These wheels and axles worked out perfectly for our STEM simple machine challenge. My best advice for this product is to put both wheels on at once, flip the axle vertically, then push down to engage both wheels on the shaft.

I have ordered this item two times and kept each shipments which seems to suggest an overall satisfaction. However, the vendor did not mention a change in the specs of the plastic tire by enlarging its inner dimension of the hole where the 2mm axle gets inserted. Is this a problem? Well, yes, because it used to lock into place via friction. I have decided to keep the last shipment even though the tires slide right off but now I am forced to glue it. Problem? Well, now you have to purchase and use a CA glue like Super Glue which is problematic in safe handling as well as having kids around this product. Even if glue does the job of securing, the tires roll more wobbly because the large opening prevents the axle to set at 90° to the tire. My preference is to complete the project with less requirements and material, ie., without gluing.

I purchased these for my girl scout troop to complete their race car badge. The wheels and axles were easy to use and fit nicely inside a drinking straw to allow them to turn. Only a few of our 2nd and 3rd graders needed help getting the wheels onto the axles. Good price and worked exactly as we need them to.

Used this for my jr high science class. Along with lessons from IIhs. The strident sure loved it and worked perfectly. Had to cut the axels in half for what I needed but now I have more!!
