I guess it gets one star for the show. We purchased this board in 2017, and it has sat in its original packing since it arrived. I’d like the blame the weather, but I’m just lazy.Anyway, shortly after slowly heating this board up on our grill (after some internet tutorials about best practices), this board literally exploded, sending super hot salt flying into my face.If you live in a state where fireworks are illegal, keep this baby in mind for the 4th of July. If spontaneously combusting cookware isn’t your thing, or you just like your skin to stay on your face, then stay away from this purchase.

I did low heat to medium preheat process for an hour as instructed by other reviewers. The block started bubbling extra moisture contains within and formed white salt on top. When I tasted it, it tasted bitter. After washed off white residues, block has tiny holes all over it. It looks like it is going to crack any time. I decided to return it after wasting two hours of my life. Return will take two more hours of my life as well since I am printing returm slip/ dropping off at nearby Amazon location.I bought smaller salt block along with this one. It worked out great. I also left a review for the small ones. That one is like a brick compared to this. Not all salt blocks have same quality.

BEST gift ever. I love this thing. We love cutting fresh fruits and veggies on this. Try clementine's, grape tomatoes, and melon. SO GOOD. Adds such a good flavor. We cut cheese on it too. Delicious They say you can bake fish on it too, haven't tried yet, but I will! We leave it on the counter almost always on a decorative tray. Wash with warm soap. GREAT housewarming gift too!

We bought this salt slab to replace one we lost when moving. It is even better than the one we had before and cost less! It is several inches longer, wider and half an inch thicker. It arrived in a nice box, neatly wrapped in plastic. We now use it on the grill several times a week. Love it with salmon and shrimp! Gives it a smoky, gently salted taste. The slab is easy to clean and durable. When this one runs out, we’ll be buying it again.

I wanted o give this a 5 star review because i do love the flavor it gives grilled food, but after only using it twice there is a huge crack in the middle. I followed the directions and cleaned it properly, very disappointed!

I received a Salt Block as a Christmas gift but struggled using it a bit because it was cumbersome to move. This holder simplified that. Easy to store.WATCH OUT - The handles are hot when on the grill (my kid unfortunately learned that the hard way)!

Really like this and I can't imagine using my salt block on the grill without this thing! My block has cracked, but this keeps it together. I would buy this again. I don't know how long it will last cooking on the grill, but for now it is great!

Bought this for my stepdad for Christmas 2018 and he loved it so much (and used it so much) that he wanted another one for Christmas 2019. Now hubby wants one!

I bought this as a gift for my Dad for Father's Day. He loves to grill, so I thought I'd give him something unique. So, I can't comment on how well it works for cooking - just that the block itself is very impressive. Thick, solid, and nicely packaged for a gift. I bought the metal holder for it too, so he can easily move it from the grill to the table.He's told me it works great, and food tastes good - but I haven't had anything cooked on it (I'm vegetarian, he is not).I'd recommend this as a gift for the person that likes to grill.

Has some cracks in it. Hopefully its normal and doesn't mean its going to fall apart when i use it. Good price though.
