I love everything about this leash. The color is awesome and the locking mechanism is much better than the majority I've used and it's a wonderful price as well. Update:After a month of using the leash it started locking up. I contacted the company and they immediately sent me a new one with no hassle whatsoever. Also included was a very pleasant hand written apology. Yes I'll definitely order from this company again. My 2nd one broke in less than a week!!!!!!!

I don’t know why I didn’t purchase this retractable dog leash sooner! If your anything like me you get tired of continuous pulling on a leash when you take you dog out for a run! She loves to explore EVERYTHING!!! After ordering this product I can walk my dog confidently in open areas. I use it every day and is strong and durable. The cord is contained in a strong plastic casing that also has an ergonomic grip, that make your day out so much easier!. It has a strong spring and smoothly retracts and is weatherproof so it works at all temperatures. 16 and a half feet is the reach, and the weight says up to 33 pounds, however my pup is 23 lbs and it works wonderful with her! The leash is easy to operate, you just lock the leash at any length by pressing the large button you will hear the click as an extra safety letting you know it is locked, this is one of my favorite features, I have tried others that don’t have this feature and I can’t tell you how many times my dog has jumped on a stranger to give them kisses, because I mistakenly thought I had locked the leash, to unlock just click the smaller button, again you will hear the click. When the larger button is up, your dog can roam freely. It comes with a matching collapsible travel bowl very convenient for a water bowl and a poo bag dispenser with bags. Both have come equipped with a clip that is easy enough to attach to the leash making it easy to maintain single handed travel. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with a small to medium sized animal that loves going out!

Edited 2-2-2021: I don't often walk my dog in the winter ( I have a fenced in yard) so I didn't use this leash very much. Last week, I walked my dog and, as I hoped would NOT happen, the button which stops the leash doesn't work anymore. You get what you pay for. It only lasted for two months of rare use. The bags were so flimsy that they tore and I threw away more than I used. I do not recommend.I like this retractable dog leash and I’m hoping it will hold up. It’s all plastic and I’m already having trouble with the locking mechanism. The plastic dog bone bag dispenser is also the cheap plastic. When attached to the handle, it makes a lot of noise, clanking to the handle, when we walk. A LOT of noise. I used up the blue bags and had to double them up because the dog poop would fall out of the bottom. And I have a small dog. Very flimsy. I just stuff sandwich bags in it now. I’d never buy the blue bags that came with it. The similar leash I had before lasted seven years. I don’t think this one will last very long. We’ll see. I hope I am surprised.

I work in dog rescue and was given this leash from a friend to donate to the rescue. Her pup had passed and was donating all of her things. First off, I am not a huge fan of these leashes because they can break and the animals can get away from you, especially scared or aggressive dogs, or those who like to pull. However, I have two very tame, lazy shih tzus that I was willing to test this out on. I read some of the negative reviews and wanted to see for myself if I could duplicate their issue as I certainly don't want someone’s beloved fur baby to get hurt because of a manufacturer’s defect. I believe they fixed some of the issues. I noticed that the tag line and description of the item itself says “for small dogs only” (when at first it was listed as ANY size dog, S, M, or L). It also gives specific instructions warning people to NOT use it on any “disobedient” dogs as it may break, along with several other warnings. That’s a positive in my book because it means the designer is paying attention and is trying to correct the issues. Also, I did NOT have the same issue as a few others regarding the plastic breaking or the leash gears snapping. Not saying that that CANT happen in the future, but for the several weeks that I have been using it, it hasn’t happened to me. My little guys pull a little, just to go sniff a bush or something and I would only recommend it for lazy bums like mine! :).I wanted to really test the leash gears before I actually let someone in the rescue use it so I tested it out on my Bailey. We have a 75 lb boxer/terrier and I put it on her collar and we ran around the back yard a bit. I know she can really pull, so I obviously didn't want to take her far, or actually break the leash as I still want to use it...lol. I DO believe that a sturdy medium or large sized dog WILL break this, so don't even attempt to use it with animals that size. Bailey definitely tugged on it quite a bit and I could feel the strain on the leash, but it did NOT break during my test. I wouldn’t go much further than what i did though.Another issue someone complained about was the size of the handle not fitting their hand. I have attached a pic of my own hand and it fits just fine. I’m 5’8, medium build so I’m not exactly sure how large of hands the person had who wrote that, but I had no issues with it personally. My husband didn't either, and he's 6ft tall, 185 lbs. (again, average build).The entire leash cover is plastic, not super thick and heavy but doable. The leash itself is black canvas and the hook is metal It was a bit stronger than I thought it would be for $10. It also came with the poopy bag holder clip on which is definitely convenient.All in all, I think it’s a pretty good buy for the money. The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is because I am not a huge fan of these leashes to begin with. If you don't know what you’re doing and its used improperly, it could really hurt your pet. There is always a chance the gears could break and that makes me a bit nervous, so again, I like this only for the pet with the proper size and demeanor. I would also recommend ANY leash be used with a body harness instead of a neck collar, and again, thats for the safety of your pet!

The minute I unwrapped my package and looked at the retractable dog leash, I was rather surprised at its sleek appearance. However, what really caught me off guard is the material quality in terms of sturdiness. This retractable dog leash does not feel cheap in any way. It is firm, sturdy, yet sleek. It also has an adorable appearance if you are a fan of dogs and consider yourself a member of the pet owner community. As someone who owns an energetic Jack Russell, I am pretty confident that this leash will aid me in controlling some of its untiring energy when I walk him. I'm glad of being able to do so at a good price.
