Heroine has a con artist with no redeeming qualities
Kendra is a manipulative con artist who should be in jail. I don't even know why Dax is risking his sobriety over a woman who obviously doesn't have an ounce of remorse. She even blames him the victim for letting her con him. I couldn't finish the book because the heroine had no redeeming qualities. She uses her looks to manipulate, lie, cheat, and steal from Dax. Dax and her twin should have cut her out of their lives. Once trust is broken you have nothing.

Fell flat and disliked the heroine!
I am so sorry that I have to give this a bad review. I thought the heroine was awful. There was nothing redeeming about her and I could not understand why a nice guy would fall for her, especially after she bilked him out of a lot of money. She is a con artist and to protect her father, she goes back to town to hurt her former lover, Dax, a second time! The father, who taught her everything she knows about conning people, was no picnic and I not only did not care for him, I hated him. Finally, the pat HEA seemed to come out of nowhere and did not fit with the rest of the book.On top of that, towards the end, the author mixes up the twin sisters and calls the "protagonist" Kendra by her sister's name, Kylie. There are also numerous other grammatical mistakes as well as typos. This author is in dire need of a proofreader, or a better one. The end of the book felt as if she rushed to finish it and did not give it to anyone to look over. I won't read this author again.

great
Shine On Oklahoma: The McIntyre Men Book 4 is written by Maggie Shayne. It is part of a series about a family in Oklahoma. The book is really good and the series probably is too. You can read the books out of order and they still make sense.Dax Russell and his Father were estranged. That didn’t keep Dax from coming to his bedside when his Father was dying. His Father had fired him when Dax borrowed (stole) some money to help her with a kidney transplant. Not only did he lose his job and his Father; but he lost the girl. She had conned him! Now he was given a chance to be forgiven by his Father; but Father refused. Dax told him he didn’t want anything from him. Father told him he had to take the business or it would go to the State Racing Association and his Mother would be in trouble.Dax has to find out what his Father was talking about and keep his Mother safe. To add to Dax’s problems, the girl who conned him has returned. Why does she want to run the racing business? What is in it for her? As he tries to figure this out, he finds himself drawn to her once more. Can he trust her this time?

Shine on Oklahoma by Maggie Shayne
I have really enjoyed reading Shayne’s book series up until this one. What a major disappointment this particular book was from start to finish! Language included!Someone, who has read the series, tell me that Jason’s story is waiting as it should have followed behind Rob and Joey’s story lines. Kiley and Kendra, no way should have become a more important character than the men, and Dax isn’t even a McIntyre! And the language, it’s okay for all forms of media to write without using the “F” word! No wonder so many people think it’s okay to swear anywhere and everywhere because it is so liberally used, but it’s NOT okay!

Entertaining light read
This one has a myriad of misspellings and grammatical errors to work through, but the story is fun. The con is on and there’s some light action, but I’d call it a cozy mystery with a smattering of romance amid the high jinks. Could benefit from some strong editing.

This was another great read and ...
I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series, even though I'm reading them out of order- something I really hate to do. However, I just couldn't wait for my finances to allow the purchase of the other books, before I started reading those I had managed to buy to date. The three that I've bought so far tempted and teased, until I simply had to read them. And I'm glad that I did, despite my manic dislike of reading a series out of order.

Cute read
Sweet romantic suspense that was very unrealistic. Bad people who change their evil ways and are graciously accepted by the pillars of the community in the end. A guys who falls for a girl that swindled him out of a large sum of cash in the past and now he catches her in a con again, but Ioves her nonetheless. A guy who fractures his tibia and sets it himself to catch a villain and save the day. It’s a bit much at times, but it was still entertaining with a happy ending of course.

Nit the best read
Kendra is back in town and Dax wonders what scam she is playing this time. He paid dearly for the transplant one and the whole town nearly lost a lot of money from her father's little game. Kendra is trying to save her father's life by persuading Dax to keep his father's business only things don't go to plan.

Shine on needs an editor
Story was good but numerous references to an incorrect person. For example, Dax and Kendra are speaking then it appears that Kiley is speaking.Needs better proofreading.
