We grew these in Kansas, and they kept coming and coming! vines so heavy that they pulled the trellis down. Use good soil and miracle grow. They need lots of water, too! After heavy summer rains, on several occasions, they seemed to have doubled in size overnight! We picked them while narrow in diameter and used like cucumbers - canned up 20 quarts, ate them fresh for months, and gave away shopping-bags full to many neighbors and co-workers, I am getting these again!!! They do balloon out more like a squash or gourd, if you let them continue to grow - then just dice and steam with a little garlic and butter, like summer squash! YUM!

My family loves armenian cukes, but this was not the light thin skinned armenian cuke shown on the picture... it was dark green and not as good as the true armenian light skinned as pictured. NEVER AGAIN for Livingston Seed.

The cucumbers that grew from the packet of seeds that I ordered came out "pickle shaped" and do not match the picture or the product description. From the product description: Heavily ribbed (Mine came out fairly smooth), light green cukes (Mine came out dark green) with mild, sweet taste (Haven't tasted yet). The seed packet was just a tiny plastic ziplock bag with Armenian Cucumber written in marker on it but I've bought computer equipment with OEM packaging before so the "plain" wrapping didn't bother me. It's true what they say. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. This was the first thing I've bought from Hirt's Gardens and it's also going to be the last.
