M.2 NVMe SSD to USB 3.1 USB-C Gen 2 Enclosure Adapter 4 Layers Heat Dissipation

Well, I had problems with other NVME cases since they make the drive so hot and they doesn't let it breath while becoming so hot for the touch. However, that was not the case with this case since it did cool the drive and it got a little bit warm after I stressed the drive for a certain amount of time.The drive I used for testing the cases is Intel 660P 2TB and please be aware that you can plug this into your phone if your phone supports OTG and the software on windows 10 won't read that for example that this is an intel drive but instead that it is a thumb drive and that's it.

This rating is for the product only - overall construction looks solid with a rugged ridged aluminum casing. However, two major issues I had with this product right out of the box. One, the thermal pad provided was too thin to make contact to the inner heat sink that mounts directly on the NVMe board. So I had to purchase a thermal pad locally that would fit properly. Second, the plastic cover for the USB-C port side of the case would not fit since the tolerances were off. In that case, I had to file down the sides and corners of the cover to get that to fit.I also noticed that I did not see the listing for the version of the NVMe drive case I purchased. Maybe the manufacturer realized the faults and removed it?Anyway, I have not seen any issues outside the above mentioned so fingers crossed.Update: The seller surprised me with another enclosure with the above issues fixed. Everything was a snug fitwith solid construction. Apparently, they are concerned about customer satisfaction and it shows. Given theexperience I had with this enclosure and my continued use of my previously purchased NVMe enclosure, I would recommend to a friend - upgrading to 5 stars.And thank you to the seller for their concern and attention to detail!. :-)

"Wan" DID F me and maybe YOU TOO!!Did not work with known good Samsung 960 nvme drive. Power indicator did light up. Super loose poor non polarized micro USB connector. Hope it didn't kill my Samsung drive or corrupt the data. Connector is so loose/poor it is guaranteed you will have an intermittent connection and loss of data/power as well....... Barely touching it would cause power light to go out. Typical modern world class poor quality product. System did not see it nor did Windows Disk Management utility.

I was sent the wrong enclosure, a similar model with a smooth chassis instead of the heatsink-style one shown in this picture. (Which I have seen advertised on Amazon for a few dollars less than this listing.)While it's possible it was simply a mistake and I could return it and get the correct one, these enclosures seem to be very similar to each other. The unit I was sent was poorly constructed and was very difficult to install the SSD. The thermal pad that was provided was the wrong size and did not have good thermal contact with the drive.Upon connecting the drive via the extremely short USB-C cable, the performance was quite fast, however after using it for about 5 minutes the enclosure was so hot to the touch that it nearly burned my fingers (probably due to the abysmal thermal pad).

I've been using another M.2 External case for a while and the damn thing feels like the surface of the sun. This case is a little more intense when it comes to installing, but damn if it's not cool as a luke-warm tomato on a sunny sunday afternoon. 10/10, would buy again.

So originally I didn't plan on getting this enclosure, but circumstances required it. It works well and is convenient to have fast storage available on the go. Currently have an intel 660p 1TB in the enclosure.

Probabably the nicest designed m.2 case on the market. Very happy with the purchase. The only thing that could be improved is that the inner tray rattles when shaken. This is easy to fix with a little double sided tape.

Bought this to replace another USB-C enclosure that failed within three month. This unit running flawlessly and doesn't get warm to the touch. Low price, high performance. We'll see if it's durable

Seller sent me a new enclosure which seems to have resolved the issue. Not sure whether it was the drive or the enclosure. Crystal Disk Mark runs as expected. Thanks.(Old Review )Ran Crystal Disk Mark a couple times before I got a result in line with USB 3.1 Gen 2 speeds. The drive seemed to work fine for several days, acting as a steam library. A week later I found it had become write protected. Now it fails to be recognized by Win 10.Additionally, the internal heat spreader, attached directly to the drive, does not contact the outer case. This traps hot air inside the enclosure.

If you are concerned about the low price compared to others, don't be. I bought others at almost twice the price, and these are just as good.I bought 2, installed a 1TB Sabrent M.2, and a 256GB Samsung M.2 in the other. Both get almost 1,000 MB's Read and Write speeds connected to a USB C 3.1 port on a Mac Pro. That's just as good as the more expensive ones.These are well stocked with extras, they include 2 USB cables, an extra end plate and screws, and a heatsink. Don't install the heatsink unless the M.2 you have recommends it. I haven't seen one yet that does.These are a good deal, great quality at a very competitive price.

This adaptor works great. Feels expensive ( because it is), and comes with two types of cables. Easy install of your ssd, and is compact. Wish they were cheaper in price so I could buy more.Nice space grey matches most notebooks and desktops and is very portable.Don't break your head. Buy this one as I have shopped everywhere for the best value and quality.

This enclosure really makes a difference. The included heat sink gets the heat out to the case with it came be dissipated. It has an excellent heat sink bonding later that conforms nicely with the contours of the SSD.
