We have 15 species in our mixed colony and we have ordered at least 8 or 9 of our various species from this supplier. We have been very pleased every single time. The price is fair and they have all arrived alive and healthy every time. (Seriously, I have not found a single dead isopod, which is more than any reasonable person would expect for multiple deliveries of live insects at various times of year and temperature. I don’t know what their secret is, but it works!) Isopods have been a wonderful low maintenance hobby for our mildly autistic sons (ages 3 and 6). A mixed colony offers so many opportunities to discuss and learn about responsibility, social interaction, kindness and caring for others. We also use it as a way to discuss differences in outer appearance even though the isopods are basically all the same on the inside. We talk about how even though they look different and have different personalities, they all get along in their cooperative community. (They really do have different personalities- some species are very assertive while others are very shy.) The background story and personal experience that the seller shared on the site was inspirational and ultimately that was what convinced me to try isopods as a hobby for my sons. As it turns out, I have just as much fun with it as they do!

Exceeded my expectations, I only ordered for five but ended up getting a bunch of extras, thanks, Hannah! I haven't set up their enclosure yet but after i get some distilled water from the store I will hop straight to it! They came much quicker than what the amazon thing said, and was kinda getting anxious considering they're live animals (it said they would arrive february 3rd ;/). I hope I'll have a lot of fun keeping these, as I have also purchased the Pocket Pets Pocket Habitat. I am very happy with everything and if I ever need anything else (like more little buddies) I will definitely order from here again! Edit: I set up their cage a while ago and put in some potato for them to eat, they have been very active and included many things for them such as some Eco Earth (substrate made by ZooMed, great stuff), a cork round for them to crawl and hang out on and a nice piece of agate to spruce up the tank :).

They were SO well packaged! I was terribly afraid they would die as we got a cold spell the day of delivery (I did check the 5 day forecast and order accordingly as she says to do but, weather here can turn on a dime😂) and I would feel so guilty! But they were ALL ok😊 All the instructions/advice are great and so helpful! My son is crazy thrilled to have these pets and try out raising Rolypolys!😁 Thank you so much and I wish all the best for your family and business!!! Side note: The little Pocket Home to carry them in was sweetly included (thank you so very much❣️) and I noticed the negativity towards these. I just wanted to say that these are CARRIERS to take your little pet with you (like a cat or dog carrier) NOT HABITATS for them to LIVE in. They CLEARLY state this and even the tag says to return them to their habitat after a bit. Adults may find this puzzling but, for a kid, carrying your little buddy around is great fun and kids have been carrying Rolys around, in one way or another, for AGES! It may not be the NICEST experience for the the Rolys but it is certainly not CRUEL and these little containers are the neatest and most humane method I have ever seen!:)

(by Heidi) We bought the roly-polies and their habitat a few weeks before my son's third birthday party. The instructions were clear and accurate, and the roly-polies arrived in good condition. It has been easy to keep them alive, although this may change now that we have given the critters to our son; a minute after holding one, he announced that he'd dropped it into his potty. I can testify that the roly-polies can survive being immersed in pee, though I wouldn't recommend trying this at home. Our children were delighted with this gift, which promises to be educational; the only disadvantage is that since our roly-polies are still young and small, they are easily able to hide themselves in the dirt and don't care to come out much. Nevertheless, we are very happy with our purchase, and if our kids don't kill off these poor creatures too quickly we are considering buying another set for our other son's birthday.

The isopods were very well-packaged in a plastic container with a moist cardboard roll embedded in eco earth; the container was snugly nestled into a very sturdy styrofoam protector that prevented them from sliding around even in the event of postal mishandling. Whoever packaged these little guys really seemed to put care into it. I ordered 30 and received somewhere closer to 35-40, and all were alive and well. A few of them played dead during the enclosure transfer, but they got back into the groove quickly. They range in size from around 10-15mm long. They’re just adorable! The one I played with drank water off my hand. Such friendly terrestrial crustaceans, they’re a joy to watch!
