- IT'S A FACT that dogs are pack animals. We become their pack when we adopt them into our lives. Their joy is to be with us, always. This tote allows us to keep them near as often as we can in our daily activities. Whether walking around the mall, grocery shopping, or anytime out and about, that little bundle of fur that brings you so much happiness, can be with you, always.
- DESIGNED TO CARRY your little one on your shoulder, as you would your purse. Tote has two openings at each end, one larger than the other. The larger opening is the head opening so your pet can see all the great places you two are going. The smaller opening allows added air flow. Outside pocket can carry dog leash and a few doggie poop bags (don't forget those). Removable insert for easy cleaning (in case you weren't fast enough with the poop bags). Measurements of the outside pocket are 5.5" L X 4" H. We inspect each tote personally to ensure that there are no flaws in construction, zippers work correctly and bottom inserts are included.
- FOR BEST FIT for your pet, the measurements of this tote are: interior 14"Lx 6.5"W with a height of 10 inches from bottom of tote to zippered top, and the interior will expand to 8". Whether you want your pup to stand or lay down in this tote, you should allow your pet at least a 1 inch gap between its back and the zipper top of the tote. So a body height 9 inches or less (standing or laying) would be ideal, leaving that 1 inch in gap between its body and the zippered top, and a pet with a body length less than 14" long will find this tote quite comfy. The tote tapers from base to top. Total exterior length of tote is 17 inches with the tapering and padded sides. The bottom of the tote to the front/head opening is 6 inches and the opening is 15" in circumference/girth leaving plenty of room for checking out the scenery. Shoulder straps measure a 20 inch circumference from the top of the tote. This is the measurement to note for a comfortable fit for YOU and where the tote will ride under your arm and how close, or far, it will be to your armpit.
- THE CONSTRUCTION of the tote is a formed sponge flocking fabric. Flocking fabric print produces a texture similar to a very slight lightweight velvety corduroy feeling. Interior of bag is lined with an easy to wipe-clean liner. We like to put our test samples through the ringer so we washed one of these totes in the washing machine on a cold setting. It survived just beautifully which sparked our curiosity of its construction. We cut the lining to find the flocking itself retains shape (no cardboard construction), and there is a half inch thick foam pad between the flocking and the interior liner. We are happy to report that these bags can be machine washed, but best to let air dry due to the pvc bottom which might melt in the dryer. Click on any main photo to view all photos available. We know it's difficult to get a real feel for a product sold online, so we do our best to give you as much information and guidance as possible. We tested our dogs with these totes....
Pippa, a fiesty Pomeranian, is a known shredder; this tote did not survive Pippa. Lizza, Pippa's sister, is extremely comfortable in this tote and has never attempted to damage it. As long as she's with mom, all is well in Lizza's world.
Brady, a puppy dachshund, also enjoys his tote. His mom folded a towel and placed it on the bottom so that with his short puppy legs, he can reach the opening and receive head scratches from dog lovers he meets when out with his owner.
These totes fit nicely in the child's seat of a shopping cart so your little one can accompany you at the grocery store.
Our desire is for you enjoy this tote. The floor insert for stability is a piece of plastic covered in nylon material, not a piece of cardboard covered in nylon. It has some rigidity to it, but is also semi pliable/flexible to aid in comfort against your side while carrying the tote. These totes are not a wide bottomed carrier in the aspect of leaving your pet inside the tote while the tote is on the ground. You certainly can by all means, but if your pet should shift its bodyweight and turn the bag on its side, it could scare your pet and result in fear of the tote. If your pet may jump out, attempt to jump out, or try to dig out (like Pippa), this might not be the ideal carrier. Just some things to consider so you are happy with your purchase. However, if your pet is very 'at home' in a carrier like this, and loves to be toted around; this tote is one comfortable pet carrier!
