While this rake has been great during the first year, I'm not sure how it will do in year 4 and 5. It's really useful raking out narrow areas, and I have cheap alternatives for the wider areas. I'd recommend it for its flexibility and use a more standard rake for larger areas.

It gets the job done as long as the job isn’t a big clean up. If you’ve used metal rakes before you know what to expect, the tines seem a little on the flimsy side but they’re flexible so the leaves don’t accumulate as much on the head itself. That flexibility and size also makes this a good rake to use if you have lots of nooks and crannies in your landscaping that always seem to gather obnoxious amounts of fallen leaves.It definitely works better on grass than say pavement or walkways, and bigger leaves than smaller ones. If you use it on hard surfaces expect to hear a lot of scraping. Again nothing you don’t know if you’ve ever used metal rakes like this before.The best feature by far is the collapsible head. There’s a handle on the rake you slide down to fold out the tines (remember to lock it down) and when you’re done, unlock it and slide it back. Elegant and great for storage - rakes usually take up a lot of room in the shed/garage.The main drawback is you’ll have to rake more with the smaller head and tines.So in sum this is a great supplemental rake especially for light duty and clean up after the main raking is done but you’re definitely going to need a bigger rake to take care of big jobs - like fall in New England for instance.

I purchased this adjustable leaf rake to replace my older leaf rake. What I do not like is the rake is too small. I am 5 foot 11 inches and have to bend over while raking leaves. This rake would be ideal for somone 5 foot 5 inches or shorter. The rake is light weight and will not wear you out. You can adjust the spacing of the tines with an adjustable lever. Raking up leaves is made simple. Just be careful not to rake too hard because one of my tines on the end slightly bent. For those who are tall, I would not recommend this rake in my opinion. If this rake was made longer in size, it would be ideal for taller individuals.

This rake is great! I have a LOT of flower beds & having the adjustable feature has provided endless happiness for me. It really makes my gardening job so much easier! I'm not sure how great it would be for actually raking up things as the tines aren't super wide, but for spreading mulch around, raking dead grass out in the early spring after a hard winter, it's been great.Update: Right after purchasing this rake, we had a 90+ mph wind storm & the mulch that I'd put everywhere was blown everywhere! I'm giving the rake a 4 star because it was useless in getting mulch out of grass. If you are purchasing this rake to move mulch or dirt around a flower bed, it's fantastic! The ability to change the size of the head is wonderful & very useful. If you need to rake stuff out of your lawn, it doesn't work very well. I ended up using our neighbors plastic rake with thick tines & it was great. Also, after a full day of yard work, the end tines of the metal rake have bent. They didn't hold their shape. I still think it's a great rake but am giving it 4 stars since it's not really all purpose & it bent after a days use.

UPDATED:The customer service is phenomenal. They reached out to me concerning my review, and even offered to refund my purchase amount because they care so much about customers having a positive experience. 5 stars for that! The rake itself is VERY RELIABLE-- better than the plastic ones you can get at a big box home store; however, it is very small-- to small to make a big dent in our outdoor raking chores. And that is the only reason this is not 5 stars overall----------We rack and blow leaves all year round so we need good reliable rakes. This one seems to be of good quality but the span is very small. It takes a lot more time to rake but the positive is that the item should last long. Just need a rake that can pick up more leaves at a time. This is the smallest take I've ever seen. If you like near Home Depot or Lowes and seen a lot of rakes you'll be surprised to see this one!5 stars for reliability and quality2 stars for length and span

I purchased this expandable rake so that I didn't have to buy 2 new rakes, one large and one small one, for my yard. The first thing I noticed was the weight of the rake was a little heavier than the older wooden handle rakes I have in the past. In order for this rake to handle the constant expansion and contraction and not splinter over the years like a wooden rake, heavier materials are needed to manufacture this rake so I hope it'll still work and feel like new in another 5 years. The weight isn't a big deal but it is something that older people should be aware of when purchasing this product . The locking mechanism flips up and down the shaft to set the size of the head in place. It is very firm so I don't expect any mechanical failures w/ this anytime soon. The head is very effective and has firmer, less flexible metal bristles at the head than a normal rake but it functions just as well if not better in some instances. Overall, I am very happy w/ my purchase and I believe that this rake will save me some time and space by replacing 2 different sized takes w/ just one.

just bought another rake, clamping system inferior to this one. Good rake for the price so far.

I originally intended to cancel this item because it said the shipping would take two months but got it within a couple of weeks and I couldn't be happier with it. I used it to rake dead grass from my lawn but it could be used for leaves too.

Collects lots of leaves, at any opening of the tines. Light weight.
