Excellent small french press
I purchased the black one with the wood top. Very elegant, classy look. It's a small press that only makes 2 cups but that's perfect for me. Like other french presses it makes excellent coffee.

This is a good French Press
This is a good French Press. It's also the only one I have used. I'm an old-timey, cowboy-coffee-in-the-wild, burnt-over-a-fire kinda guy. This little gem is fantastic. Made of ceramic and feels sturdy and not easily broken. I tend to be rougher on gadgets and such than I want to be.I followed the instructions--sort of. I like my coffee a little stronger than most, so I coarse-ground some Tanzania Peaberry blend and boiled the water.Following directions I boiled water and filled the cup, waited 4 mins (chugged a Kuerig while waiting), and then pressed the plunger. Simple! No coffee grinds--grounds? stuff ... got through. Coarse grind made such a world of difference! Smooth, full flavor and creamy tasting. I drink it black and it was fantastic. That's all there is to a French Press? I'm sliding into 60, so why have I waited?Cleaning was simple, even my hands got down into the cup to clean. The filter unit was simple and fit snugly inside. Subsequent cups have all been stellar--no seepage or pesky coffee nuggets sneaking through.Another reviewer mentioned the wood cover. I'm not sold that that's actually wood either. I have not seen anything to suggest it may be problematic, and a good cleaning should keep any acids off that may accelerate wear.Whether you're an old chunk of coal knuckle dragger like me or an experienced coffee aficionado, you will likely enjoy.* Easy cleaning* Heat retention* Makes 2 8oz cups; 1 big 'un if you're me.* Good value for moneyCONS:* Cup could be a little bigger. (personal preference)

Broke the first time I poured hot water into it
It is nice looking, but that doesn’t matter when it cracks all the way down the side there first time you pour hot (not even boiling) water into it.

Broke after a few uses
I liked this but the filter part broke from the center handle after a few uses.

Looks great but doesn't function as well
This French press is on the smaller side but is perfect for a few cups of coffee. It is made of a thick porcelain with a beautiful wood top and mesh screen. It looks very classy and is a show piece compared to my beat up stainless French press! The thick ceramic also keeps your coffee warm longer than most standard French presses. It is easy to take apart and clean as well. The downside I found with this one is that the mesh is not constructed well so when you go to strain the coffee grounds they don't get properly strained out and you are left with coffee grounds in your coffee. This is surprising due to the mesh having a tight fit when you put the lid on. I have this at my work desk for my afternoon coffee and it functions as I hope it would but I'm taking off a star due to the mesh issue - not a fan of grounds in my coffee.

Great for a few cups of coffee
This is a small French press. It makes two average sized cups of coffee or one large (with possibly some leftover). It's sleek and modern looking, easy to clean and effective for everything but the most finely ground coffee (think Turkish or espresso). You just pour in hot water and the desired amount of grounds and then close it, wait a few minutes and then press. The filters keep almost all of the gritty grounds out of your drink. It's convenient because you don't have to use a disposable filter and you only have to make 1-2 mugs worth of coffee so it's good for smaller quantities especially for 1-2 peoples. It's relatively easy to clean too.

Super premium feel, makes good coffee
I'm not sure whether the body is made of metal or ceramic - it's some sort of heavy material that cleans easy. And the top is actually real live wood from a tree. These combined make this French Press really feel premium.I'm not a French Press expert - I have an automatic machine for most of my coffee making, but I decided to give this a try, and it made a good cup of coffee. Cleaning the top is a little bit annoying because of that wood - you don't really want to dunk the whole thing in a sink of dishwater - just rinse the bottom part out. Also, the press did get quite warm on the outside when adding the water - so whatever that premium feeling body of it is, it's not very well insulated. It's more for looks than anything else. Given many of these presses are made from glass or plastic, it can't be any worse than them in terms of insulation.Overall this is a really premium feeling French Press that makes good coffee - exactly like it's supposed to. It's rare that you get a product that actually feels GOOD, not cheap! Great job DHPO!

A great little teapot
This is a beautiful little infuser that I use to infuse loose leaf tea. The construction is sturdy and I know it will last a long time. The press feature keeps most of the tea leaves out of my cup. (A few get by.) Also, using the press stops the infusion process so the last drop of tea is as good as the first. The spout doesn't drip. I like to steep my tea more than once and it's easy to pull the press out to add more hot water. This holds 21 ounces which is perfect for 2 cups of tea. I knew it was going to be a small pot; just a bit bigger than a pint glass. There are a few video reviews for this product that make it look much bigger, which can be confusing. (I've included a picture that shows how it compares to a 20 ounce insulated cup.) But it's the perfect size for brewing tea or coffee. Be aware that this does not go on the stove. You add hot water to the pot. I really love it.
