not a great edition :
Missing all of the plates. The text is very poorly edited with miss placed paragraphs and sentences among other errors and omissions.

great book
This is an excellent resource as it is a hardcover facsimile edition of the original work. If you require a more modern (readable) translation of this work with corrections and annotations, see Donald Tyson's softcover edition "The Fourth Book of Occult Philosophy"

it is what it is . . .
A good, essential, and important title for anyone who is serious about magic; though simply a book that is in its umpteenth incarnation. However, Stephen Skinner does add a good dose of his skill and experience as both a writer and more importantly a magician to the mix, which makes for a better issue, in terms of practicality and functionality, than it would be if someone else were in his place. Recommended.

The readability of this work is great. It's perfectly coherent and in simple English
I read this book after becoming interested in these type of books. In my experience this was the most clear writing I've encountered in an occult booklet. The readability of this work is great. It's perfectly coherent and in simple English.

Happy that it's hardback
To be honest, I'll probably end up forking out for Donald Tyson's paperbabck edition which seems far better researched and annotated. The commentary here is very heavy on subjective opinion, light on substance and most damningly, light on support for anyone wishing to try the workings for themselves. For instance, the aphorisms in the Arbatel are dismissed as 'preachy' (it's possible that another word was used, but that was the meaning) with the calls to the planetary spirits being identified as the only chapter of any worth - which completely miss the point of the aphorisms.I have a full review of the physical book on my Youtube channel which you can find by searching for "Denis Poisson".

Waste of money, NOT USEFUL
Book is missing info, reads like readers digest. It's like a short summary, of the books, which is not very useful at all.

Four Stars
Excellent, contains six short books in one, and they're all important.

Agrippa? OK.
