Schaum's Outline of German Grammar, Sixth Edition

Not much has changed in the book over the recent revisions. The most noticeable change for me is the cover. The cover now has a textured, plastic coating and looks much more durable than the previous covers. It is also very slippery and when I slide my fingers across the plastic it's like chalk screeching across a blackboard. Maybe that's just affects me, but I'll need to put a paper cover over it, or maybe apply clear, vinyl self-stick over the front and back. The inside pages are still the same - have the same newspaper feel.I use this book as a supplement to Duolingo and Babbel. It is well-organized, easy-to-understand, and has a very usable index. I haven't tried the audio recordings and don't intend to.Highly recommend as reference. If you're sensitive to the feel of the cover, maybe buy an older, good or better condition used copy.Edit: Maybe just me. The cover gives me the tactile shivers. Returning and buying used 5th edition for more compatible cover material. I've used library 4th edition with no shivers! Weird.

The best study tool I have to augment my University class.

Very helpful and clear! A great way to study German grammar.

I bought this because the title and the description present it as a BOOK ABOUT GERMAN GRAMMAR. It is NOT. It is a book of grammatical exercises.What is more, each chapter throws a hundred words at you and then the exercises require you to know words it didn't teach. And the exercises are hardly adequate to memorize the words.

Grammar appears to be acceptable. Audio support for the first chapter and the second chapter up to exercise 14 does not exist. Book emphasizes the importance of pronunciation but audio is absent for critical early development. Would return ebook if I could.

The book itself good and 5 star rating. Online exercises and audio recordings are not available. Very disappointing! Online customer service is bad.

Chose to buy the textbook new but should have opted for the used book. The book arrived bent, creased, which has dampened my enthusiasm for the class.

I found the first chapter especially helpful for studying the relationship between sounds and writing. I'm glad that I bought it.

Amazing for German grammar from A to Z

Very detailed explanations, contains a lot of exercises, one has to download the app for the audio, but the book is slightly bent.

If you haven't heard of this book just do your research. I think it's excellent for what he's supposed to be.

this is a really good grammar book, just keep in mind that the pages are very thin so can easily rip if you press too hard whilst writing on the pages for the activities

Manuale molto ben strutturato per chi come me ha bisogno di rinfrescare il proprio tedesco! Gli esercizi sono mirati (ma sono giusto 1 o 2 per spiegazione), e hanno tutti le soluzioni in fondo al libro. Il lessico presente è vasto e moderno, ed è contenuto anche in una sezione dedicata sempre alla fine del manuale. Le pagine purtroppo sono molto, molto sottili (proprio come quelle di un classico dizionario) perciò è difficile sottolineare con l'evidenziatore senza rovinarle. Le spiegazioni sono tutte in inglese, lo sconsiglio quindi a chi non è pratico di questa lingua.
