I bought this to upgrade my 2006 Fender Baja Telecaster, which had a loose jack socket that I couldn’t tighten further. I’ve built a few guitars, so I figured this would be easy, but NOPE. The thread pitch of the Tele’s jack socket doesn’t match this POS so I could not install it. Round one to this little devil of a part.Upon closer inspection, the product page says it works with a 6.35mm Switchcraft jack socket with metric threads. Fine. My fault for not reading the fine print. So I ordered that from Amazon ($5) and tried to test fit it. No go. Compared that with the jack socket already in my Tele, and they’re the same. What gives? This part is all show and no go. It looks the business, but you can’t install it straight out of the box. So I ended up having to pull out my tap and dye set to cut new threads in this brass turd of a part. (I was committed to making this ridiculous thing work.)Long story short (too late): It will NOT fit your Fender Telecaster jack unless you own some nonstandard guitar built by a brand aiming for the lowest possible cost.Can you tell I’m irritated? Me too.

You can disregard the previous review by T.B. Amidon...he didn't review the product, he reviewed himself. The description clearly states that this is for metric threaded output jacks not American. Either he didn't bother to read the description, or he didn't understand it, or he chose to disregard it, or he didn't know what he already had in his guitar that he was replacing.Don't worry people, buy this product if you need metric threads. Don't buy it if you are going to try to fit American threaded jack to it.I really have a pet peeve about people giving negative reviews to products which are really only about their own ignorance. When I read a review I want to know about the PRODUCT.

Do not order this if u are replacing a Mexican or USA Telecaster1. The threads do not fit.

Looks good but it did not have the proper thread pattern to properly screw into my jack. The jack is standard telecaster, but the threads on this were visibly rough like it had not been tapped correctly.

These are built for metric thread output jack. Switchcraft will not work.
