Great replacement
Few years ago stupidity allowed me to decide to use the smoker for burning up some old wood- great fire and looked like could’ve roasted a marshmallow the size of a small child!….until I noticed the plastic thermometer bung here dripping down the side! Having made do without it and a few failed improvisations later -finally bought this and frankly it’s great! Speedy delivery, easy to fix and basically hassle free.

Great fitting part and well made
Absolutely brilliant fit for my WSM, replacing original one that got all split and cracked last year. Comes well packed and instructions to assist if making a new hole.

Super easy to install, just need to make a 1 1/4 inch hole and voila. I used a step bit. Installed it on my homemade smoker and it is not letting air leak throught so it works like a charm.

These are great. Appear identical to the OEM ones at 2\3 the cost and you get 2 of them. I installed one on a 22 inch Weber kettle and the other on a pit barrel cooker. The porcelain exterior of the kettle is really hard. So I drilled from the inside of the grill. Trick is to push firmly and drill slow. A sharp bit is also a good idea. Drill a small starter hole, then a 1/8 inch hole and then use a stepbit to go to the needed 1 1/4 inch hole. Then from the outside of the grill use the step bit to lightly knock off the burrs and clean up the hole. I coated the inside of the hole with some black high temp paint on a Qtip. Probably not necessary but it can't hurt. I bought the step bit on Amazon too. Putting the grommet in isn't too hard but you need to follow the instructions and put it in hot water. You can also use some vegetable oil around the edges of the grommet to help it slide in. Start the grommet on one side of the hole and keep pressing it in and working your way around till it completely pops in. Be patient and don't say too many bad words. It has to fit right to not leak smoke. It works great. You can easily get 4 temp probe wires through it. It doesn't leak smoke. It does the job at a fair price.

Installed on a Weber kettle (Opposite side to the heat source / coals) but after less than a dozen cooks the first one has disintegrated. Second one now installed but not overly confident the result will be any different. Not fit for purpose.

Correspond à la description. Mais reçu qu'une seule pièce au lieu de deux.

I bought these to add to an older Weber Smokey Mountain smoker, and all went well. The only thing I would do differently is to not smooth the hole as much as I did -- on first use, the port got pushed into the smoker when I tried to push a probe through. I think you should drill the hole (I used a metal cutting hole saw in a drill), and then lightly debur the opening -- in other words, leave a bit of a sharp edge so the metal will grip the silicon wafer. I think as the probe port gets used and loosens up, I won't have any more problems. Once installed and the probes pushed through, this port works exactly as the factory installed port on my newer WSM.
