These dresses are a common staple item for what seems like a lot of folks. If you care about fiber content (and if you're going to be out in hot summer sun doing renn faires, you SHOULD), you have to care who makes the dress.There are sellers who will only make these in cruddy polyester fabric, which is cheap, and good for those who really only need it for one costume for one day in a cool month.There are a few who _actually_ make the dress out of (mostly) cotton (93-95 is mostly, elastane is ususally the second part, which is used in the smocking area as cords to smock with). The dress is MUCH better that way, as it's actually viable on warm days.Some of those cruddy polyester sellers use this listing, selling it as '100% cotton' - which is a complete lie. Be wary. Buy ONE dress at first, check your tags, and leave time for returns if they're needed. Once you find a seller who does actual cotton, save their name, because you'll want them again.

Really cute dress! I got the Regular size. Fabric is is pretty thin, and the liner skirt ends at my mid thigh. Some loose threads that I’ll be trimming. Will be great for summer though and won’t be too hot! I likely won’t need a bra, and the off-shoulder doesn’t slip much at all. We got this used as it was a return from someone else on Amazon. My daughter danced in it all night at a shipwrecked-theme cotillion and will use it again with different accessories for a Celtic dance as well. It is built well enough to actually use as an everyday dress, unlike most costumes that are plastic and poorly sewn. However, it is rather sheer, which is to be expected of a white dress. Very versatile and breathable. We are happy with it and worth the price since she will use it often and needs something breathable to dance in.

I have pros and cons to this dress. Most of my cons come from me not receiving exactly what is pictured in this listing and on the photos that others have posted on reviews. What’s different is the waist part (the stretchy bit of the dress) as well as the keyhole design on top that you tie doesn’t exist with my dress which is a huge bummer because I really liked that part when I was ordering it. Another con is that there are a lot of loose threads on this dress. I don’t want to return it because I have been waiting for the white to come in stock for so long in “one size” and it seems to be really hard to come by so I’ll keep this for now I supposed the pros to the dress is that I really like that it has a slip attached and that it is very comfortable and flattering. It was a toss between 3 stars and 4 because it’s just kind of annoying that it isn’t what is pictured. Hope this helps!

Good fit bust could be larger vertically nice quality

I love this dress. I wasn’t sure about how a one size item would fit, but the waist is very flattering, I can walk easily in it and the top fits great. I can tell there is room for someone with a larger bust to wear if comfortably. I really wanted something made out of cotton so it would be more period appropriate. I did try one of the polyester blend items that are on Amazon but this one looked so much better. I’m very excited to wear it as the base layer for my Halloween costume. It is fairly sheer below the slip, and the slip is short, so you need to wear a skirt over it.

For the price, this is a pretty good chemise dress. I bought it to wear when working from home and to use as an under-layer for winter. Under a long skirt, it helps keep everything a little cozier and warmer. Peeking out from a cardigan on top, it gives a very cute feminine look.However, it's really obvious that they cut corners on the lining to save money. The lining barely covers your bum and since the fabric is pretty sheer, you can see a big dividing line where it ends. It bunches up when you sit down and becomes rather pointless. I'm going to cut it out and wear this with a petticoat if I'm using it as my main garment.I got the XL, which is plenty stretchy, but I might remove one or two of the underbust elastic lines because they come up over my bust unless I pull it down and show off more cleavage than I'm personally comfortable with.

I ordered an XL - the largest size listed- in hopes of having the dress fit me. While the dress does 'fit' its not flattering. There is JUST enough fabric to go around my torso and hips. Once on, there is no gathering effect left in the elasticated parts.This dress in XL would be better for someone with measurements less then 42" in the waist and less then 52" in the hips. Otherwise there won't be enough extra fabric to create the gathering effect.Also the chest was cut very short and the waist had to come a up to almost half my bust.
