Good unit for marking location
Retrieval of weight is awkward without the assistance of second person. Easy to eject to mark location and shows direction of current.Would like a heavier string on the unit.

Twp-man buoy retrieval
Not until I received the buoy did I learn retrieval of the recommended min-5-lb weight (not provided) was a two-man job. The built-in reel being insufficient to pull up such a heavy weight, the job becomes one person hand-over-handing the weight while the other manipulates the reel, while applying finger tension to the loose line. There are much easier to use markers available, with some adaptable for electric drill retrieval. Also, I was never contacted by American Bandit after initiating the return process thru Amazon. Amazon finalized the return via its A-Z satisfaction policy.

Best on the market. Used one for years. Bought another boat last year and tried to find one for it, but until today, I couldn't find one. Such a great product, I just wonder why they disappeared.
