My daughter was thrilled and surprised to receive this book. She says it is very informative, providing an extensive selection of Broadway Musicals’ history dating back to 1866. The plethora of information in this ninth edition is amazing. Some reviewers complain that certain shows are not included, however what IS there is truly fascinating. If you think you know a lot about Broadway musicals, think again. After reading this book you will realize there is so much more to enjoy learning.

A very informative history of the American musical. It includes casts, directors , choreographers, etc. The synopsis of each work is great, especially when you have memories of seeing it in person.

Just received this book and my Broadway obsessed girlfriend absolutely loves it. It provides a small summary (and sometimes photos) of practically every musical, along with cast and crew with many indexes to help sort through the information-which we appreciate!. It's just something fun to thumb through like a Broadway IMDB book. Highly recommended for the bookshelf and to have something a little more personal than always resorting to Googling every actress and show.

This book is great if you are teaching musical theatre. Also useful for musical theatre fans who want to know the basic facts. I find in indispensable. I have owned every edition.

Awesome quality and delivered quickly!!

This is an amateurish production with poor type and poor pictures and not much information about musicals and shows. Plus it cost quite a bit. I bought it for a gift to a young person who performs in youth versions of these productions, but it's not good enough to give to anyone. Although it tries to be comprehensive, it could only be of interest as a quick reference to then go to something else for real information. Too bad. I don't know what to do with it.
