Missing two continents. Could have been more fun.
I had a digital copy, which was completely impractical for us. I was EXTREMELY happy to find the book in print. Now we can actually use it!This paperback book goes around the world to say goodnight to various animals and you complete one yoga pose for each animal. At the end of the book is a map showing where all the animals come from. The book enforces learning of basic geography, cultural geography, and ecosystems while integrating exercise all into the bedtime routine. What a fantastic way to end the day!My biggest complaints with the book are:1. South America is not included in the book because the rainforest/jungle animals are taken from Guatemala which is still technically part of North America.2. Antarctica is also not included. How hard would it have been to include a penguin and a whale or albatross?3. The book is limited to only yoga poses, which lessens the impact and fun of the book. This book is for kids so you could add in all sorts of poses to match the animals that are not "pure yoga" poses. All those yoga poses were made up at some point by someone, so why not make up some more poses that kids would really enjoy?4. The drawings of the poses are not necessarily easy to follow and there is not any explanation on how the pose is done correctly (versus hurting yourself). For parents who have never done yoga in their life - you need some training before using this book. For us, instead of the eagle pose, I let my son flap wings. For the kangaroo, I let him hop around because he is not going to hold still for that one. I also had to look up all the poses online and make sure I understood how to do them correctly. The book contains the following poses: moon salute, kangaroo, eagle, squat , downward-facing dog, pigeon, cat, extended child's, child's, cobbler's, half shoulder stand, happy baby, and resting.

Good Night, Animal World
With a six year old starting kindergarten, we were struggling at bed time. I purchased with no knowledge or experience with yoga to hopefully start a calm, relaxing bedtime routine. The book is beautifully illustrated with simple directions and kid friendly yoga poses. Readers are encouraged to tell the animals goodnight after each pose, which my daughter looked forward to. The book and the poses seemed to calm my daughter down and prepare her for a night of rest. We purchased the book and some yoga flash cards to rotate the book with so she wouldn't get burnt out or bored. After reading for a couple months, we switched to a new book, but my daughter still uses some of the poses from the book and the breathing exercises she learned from the flash cards to calm herself down or relax. Overall, a great purchase and a good addition to our library of bedtime books.

Great kids yoga book!
We really enjoyed this kids yoga book! The illustrations of the animals are beautiful and I love how the story uses yoga poses that flow so well together to help kids relax before bedtime. Our daughter really enjoyed doing the poses together with us. I also really loved the guide at the end. It has a lot of great ideas on how to use the book and can help your child establish routines and healthy habits as they grow.

Yoga Play
I purchased this book for my 3 yr old grand daughter, for Christmas. I was drawn to the beautiful art work, connection to animals, and promotion of yoga fun. We both loved the book! Reading and Yoga!

Fell apart the first week. :-(
Started coming apart the very first week and I am the only one to turn the pages (not our daughter). What a waste of $12. I had to go through and individually tape every single page to keep the whole book from coming apart. :-(

kids loved it
I used this book to end a yoga lesson at the afterschool club ages 5-10 and the kids loved it, it was just right to bring a calm air to the group. The children enjoyed telling me also where they came from as we moved around the world with the delightful characters. We had just finished Anna and her rainbow coloured matts as the main lesson, Am now looking forward to using all of the books by Giselle as they make the teaching a joy.

Nice but very short
The book itself is nice and cute but I was expecting something a little longer for the price so I'm a little bit disappointed.

I think this book is great - I just need to get my daughter to start doing it as part of the bedtime routine I think it will be a nice way to wind down before bed.
