The Royle Family Album: The Complete Collection

Image and sound quality are very good, like soap opera broadcast*. The question at the time of ordering was in regard to understanding the fast and somewhat dialected dialog. I am a British humour loving American.Nowhere, either in product description, in the numerous disc reviews (all of which praise this unique series), or on the packaging, is there any mention of subtitles.Rest peacefully. There are subtitles!!! There is also, thank goodness, NO LAUGH TRACK. The use of this appauling device is so often a slap in the face beside being an insult to intelligence. Compliments to the makers of ROYLE FAMILY for allowing its viewers to decide what is funny and what is at times rather serious drama.* Video quality is such that nuances in character and facial detail take this further into reality. Bravo!

Great box set such a great program from the past

This is the best comedy boxset I have ever bought, I love The Royle Family and couldn't believe I found all 3 series plus the Queen Of Sheba for such a great price. It's comedy gold in my opinion and a timeless classic, if you watch an episode and don't have at least a little chortle, I think there may be something very wrong with you!

Even though I never seen the Royal family long ago, but I believe it a good laugh show

1st of its kind to develop a comedy series based around a lounge and a TV set. If you thought about it, it should make you want to go out and not waste your life in front of a box. Good humour for a quiet night in.

This was the worse series ive ever seen after watching it on the televison. I was Very disappointed, Pulled an all nighter watching the Series and then spent the day after some sleep, watching the Queen Of Sheba, and was throughly disappointed. Apart from great acting from Ralf Little, and Liz Smith and Sue Johnston, the Queen of Sheba was pure crap. Craig Cash's son can not act and is very disappointing, Craig Cash is also very disappointing a case of like Father like Son. Caroline Aherne is annoying and Ricky Tomlinson just reverts back to the old Jim. The supporting cast is also disapointting and although this was a second hand copy bought form Amazon i was soooo disappointed. Jessica Stevenson has done better work than this "crap", e.g Joan in Doctor Who. All in all i found the extras much better, especially the Interviews and of course it still leaves some questions unanswered, such as what happened to Emma and Anthony and where the hell did they get that Massive Television???

We watched this complete collection over a week because it is so good and funny! British humor is the best and this is on the top shelf. The special was wonderful !

The DVD set came on time, as it said. Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to watch them yet. Because they do not play on my bluray. But, I'm going to buy a no region DVD player, so that I can enjoy this awesome show. I fell in love with the show, on Netflix, but it's been deleted already. And I miss it!The DVDs themselves, look in perfect condition.

Little worn but still great shape

This show is a dark comedy about day-to-day life. I like shows that require me to pay attention and there are a lot of little things that happen, glances, expressions that are missed if you don't pay attention.
