Effective, but not without quirks
With some reservations, I like this easy to set up and use indoor hydroponics 'garden'. I set mine up 71 days ago, I know this because the touchscreen LCD control panel keeps track, and it's doing pretty well. I didn't set mine up with the provided gourmet herbs pack, but with a rapid growing variety of dwarf French beans (aptly named 'Speedy'). Within a couple of days my beans had sprouted, and by 5 weeks of growing, I was able to pick enough beans to accompany dinner for 3. On a couple of occasions when I've needed to unplug the Aerogarden, accidentally unplugged it, or the power went out, the information pertaining to my planting was retained when the garden was restarted, with me only needing to reset the clock.I have experienced a few problems with this. If the Aerogarden isn't topped up with water more regularly than it thinks it needs to be, it struggles. If this is left until the system's water level monitor acknowledges that it needs water, the leaves on the plants start to singe under the super-bright LED lighting in the canopy and flowers/small beans begin to fail. The light is very, very bright - it definitely needs to go in a room where it won't create annoyance. Indeed, the light is so bright that we noticed other plants in the same room (but on other pieces of furniture) starting to grow towards it, so there was a bit of a positive here as it does seem to boost growth in other plantings. The pump did seem to get stuck on once, but the highly technical solution of turning it off and turning it back on again resolved this issue.Although I've found this to be a good and effective little system, the price point is really too high for the quantity of plants that can be grown.

Faulty LCD and Terrible Support
I'll keep this short and sweet. After a couple of weeks the LED display started "glitching", in the sense that it flickered and some of the icons would start separating out like a jigsaw puzzle. I could have put up with that, however after another 6 weeks it started restarting itself saying it had lost power. I checked the power cable and it was secure, and there were no power cuts. It did this every few hours.I emailed their support when I got the LED display errors, and it took SIX weeks to get a response...and that response was "Talk to Amazon, we can't help". Wow.DO NOT BUY. Maybe the other models are more reliable, but this Bounty model is a definite failure.

There is a Power Surge issue when used in the UK that shuts off the unit all the time!!
I first bought this product in Jan 2018 but didn't first use until March so that i could have fresh herbs and some veg for summer. The first few months everything seemed fine and the growpods worked well but after about 4 months the LCD display stared going wonky with the images split in half and the lights would occasionally switch off due to a power surge. Skip forward a few more months to November and the "power surge" was turning it off at least 8 times per day. at time of writing the shut offs are now at least once per hour, sometimes every 5 mins, you can never know how long it will stay of for. There are now countless reviews with the same problems and Aerogarden are not very helpful at all as they refer you back to the vendor i.e Amazon, so i advise you to stay away from this product and get the Harvest Elite model instead as other users have said this one does not have the same problem.

Nice while it lasted...Unusable after 67 days...Keeps switching off
Initially I was very pleased with the kit. Easy to set up, easy to maintain. Basil grew like it was going out of fashion, and I couldn't use it quick enough. 2 of the pods didn't grow at all though. After 67 days of growth (I know this because the display tells you how long they have been growing), it decided to switch itself off, and asked (via the screen) if there had been a power cut or did I want to start from scratch. So you have to reset the time, when the lights come on, when they go off etc...Having done that, around five minutes later, it did exactly the same thing...The symptom seems to be the screen starts to 'glitch' and flicker, and get square white blobs here and there, then it goes off...Comes back on and asks if you've had a power cut. It keeps doing this and It's now totally unusable. I'm returning it for a refund, as reading other reviews, it's a very common problem. So the thriving plant I'll now have to destroy, I'll have the bother of having to pack it up and return it, and Amazon can't replace it because they have no stock. To say I'm annoyed is something of an understatement.

Happy with my Aerogarden Bounty
I am very happy with my Aerogarden Bounty; so much so I now have 4 of them! π€ππΏπΎI have never had green fingers and plants grown outside in soil have sadly not made it; and I have always wanted to try hydroponics and the Aerogarden; and finally have had my opportunity to do so. It's still early days; but I'm learning a lot on the FB Aerogarden and hydroponic groups which provides lots of help.I am growing tomatoes π at the moment and they started sprouting on Day 3! It's exciting watching the seeds sprout; and it's very addictive to watch them grow daily and stroke the leaves, like a proud parent! AG says it's minimal care; but if you join the FB support groups, you'll read from advanced hydroponic growers that it's better to take a bit more care by checking the PH and PPM levels, as well as flushing a few days before harvest so that the veg doesn't taste bitter as many have complained of.I'd highly recommend; it's addictive π€π
