I use this to iron just about everything. This is my second one -- they do eventually become loose on the iron, sometimes develop cracks in the plastic that can catch on the fabric. But they last a few years and make ironing faster and easier.

This Teflon iron shoe fits easily and firmly on my iron. The iron plate is fully covered, so there's no iron marks on pressed garments.

I should preface this by saying that this is not my first Teflon iron shoe. I’ve had several. Some have been great, and then there’s this one ...While it does its job of preventing scorched fabrics, I have had occasions where it has left an imprint of the holes pattern on my fabric (specially rayon and ultrasuede); fortunately I was ironing on the back of my piece, so this wasn’t too big of a deal, but it could have been in a different situation.The main reason I love these type shoes is that I can iron a fabric on a temperature higher than it can normally tolerate (for instance, silk.) However, the thickness of the plastic on this particular shoe is such that it takes a fair amount of time for the heat to transfer: a real problem when you’re needing high temperatures ... like fusing interfacing through a presscloth.Another problem I have with it is it’s design: the single spring for attachment to the iron only allows me to strap it around the ’rear’ of my iron, not making for a very secure fit. The shoe can slide a centimeter or two side to side. That would seem like no big deal, but it exposes the stainless plate of my iron to the fabric that would have otherwise been protected, creating possible scorching/melting issues.If you can get this shoe situated properly on your iron, iron on a constantly high temperature to ensure penetration of heat , and rapidly move about to prevent any impressions, this is a great choice for you. These kinds of plates extend the life of irons and prevent scorching fabric, but this one was not as easy as some to shape to the iron, but it works great.

Doesn’t burn or scorch, dry cleaning quality!
