Still love the series.
I read the first few pages and knew that I had read it in another one of the series. It would have been good to know before I purchased the book.

Geeky Fun, Lots of Trivia
I jumped into this series at book 4, but I felt that it provided enough backstory to figure it out. Harriet Manners is a trivia-obsessed socially awkward teenager who's managed to land herself some modeling gigs, which has resulted in some travel and adventures, and a romance that is now over, and that Harriet is having a hard time getting over. She's back in the UK, heading back to school, hoping to make some new friends and to avoid the bullies that had made her school life miserable in past years. But then one of her photo shoots actually makes it into a major ad campaign, and she suddenly has to deal with a new problem: what to do when she suddenly has too much popularity.Trivia is a big part of Harriet's narration style and it's probably going to be either love or hate for most readers. I'm on the love side of things. It gives her an entertaining voice, and the author uses it surprisingly effectively to convey the narrator's emotional state. The plot featured a lot of contrived afterschool-special kinds of interaction, but there was also a lot of genuinely funny gags, and some pretty good insights into both Harriet and her supporting cast. I liked that the villains had a bit of complexity to them, although to a certain extent this felt like it was a new development four books into the series. The characters from Harriet's modeling gigs were almost entirely complete caricatures, but there were there to provide comic relief, and were actually pretty funny for the most part. There is a subplot that takes Harriet to Morocco, and it has some very nice scenes, and even a bit of sense-of-wonder, which was important for showing some of what Harriet is getting out of the modeling career that seems on the surface to be so antithetical to her personality. The ending was sweet and maybe a bit too sentimental, but definitely feel-good, and it brought a new character fully into her own and hinted at that another new character will figure into the next book in a major way.Aside from the trivia there were not as many of what I would consider to be geeky elements in this story, but I do give props for the dropping for Terry Pratchett references.

Well written, funny and heartwarming - highly recommended
This is my favorite book of the series so far.Harriet is going into 6th form, sure that this new year will mark a new start in her life. Best friend, Nat, is no longer at school with her and stalker Toby is not talking to her so Harriet is a bit lost but determined to fit in and make some new friends. And her plan appears to work. Former enemies of hers are cozying up to her like nobody's business and Harriet is suddenly popular! Of course, what Harriet thinks is happening and what is actually happening are two different things and there's a big mess to untangle.Parts of the story remind me a bit of 'Joy Luck Club' and the kind daughter who feels like no one ever sees her. In 'All that Glitters' Harriet's true friends see her clearly for the kind and generous person that she is and that is just lovely to see. I found the last couple of chapters particularly moving and powerful.Highly recommended.

Very Funny
I think this is one of my favourite series so whe I hear a fourth book was coming out I was delighted.Firstly, why I love this series:· I think Harriet has a really unique voice·I love all the terrible situations she finds herself in,and how easily she resolves them in the end, with the help of a kind family member/friend·I love Annabel and Richard, they are hilariousSecondly, what happens in the book?*SPOILER ALERT*First off,Harriet is still settling in with her little sister Tabitha. She starts high school(spoiler:it goes disastrously wrong on the first day). After a while she notices that Nat and Toby are ignoring her,to the point of being rude.Alexa is being characteristically nasty but soon the tables turn.......Harriet is pressurized into throwing a party,at which there is many shocks and Harriet eventually accepts herself.Thirdly, what I thought:I thought it was a little boring but overall a good book.. can't wait for the next one!

Hmmmm
I feel Harriet can be a bit annoying. How she can't read people very well? I feel she is quick tempered and things get to her head alot. This is my opinion and nevertheless it's still a great book it just ruined part of the experience when I am face palming half the time!

I need more!!!!!
**THIS REVIEW CONTAINS A TINY SPOILER FOR THE PREVIOUS BOOK. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK**I have never grabbed a book so fast from NetGalley before. I logged on to browse and saw All That Glitters, it was the fastest request/download to kindle ever. All That Glitters has a lot to aim for, especially as I LOVED the previous books in this series, and I dropped everything to read this one.Holly Smale has done an amazing job at making Harriet likeable and believable, and within the first few sentences I was laughing at how frank and honest Harriet is. I love her random facts, they never get old and I really look forward to seeing what Harriet will come up with in each new book. I really like how she sees everything at face value and doesn't see any other meaning to things that are said, or things she says or writes, which does make for some hilarious statements from herself, and some hilarious situations that she finds herself in.I read All That Glitters in a few hours, and honestly I didn't really make any review notes, just copied down some quotes I liked, although there are a lot more I would like to add, but then that would basically be most of the book."Because I thought maybe if I could just bury myself deep enough, for long enough, I could shut the world out and myself out with it. And then I wouldn't have to think about how the last time I saw Nick is the last time I'll see him, and the last time I kissed him is the last time I'll kiss him. About how life keeps going on as it always has. Or how my heart can beat 100,000 times a day. Even when it's broken."".....It's fresh, it's unorthodox! It's visionary! Could you, perchance, try a little krumping?"Which I assume is dancing like a crumpet. So I obediently roll myself on to the sand and try to look as bread-like as possible." I devoured the pages of All That Glitters, each time a chapter ended I HAD to read the next one, and even though there were a few issues with the formatting of the chapters it did not distract from my enjoyment of this book. In the previous books of the Geek Girl series, Harriet goes to different countries and places for modeling, and while that happens in All That Glitters, this book is mainly focused on Harriet at home, and starting Sixth form, without Nat, and with a very aloof, non-stalker Toby.Harriet is seen in a completely different light in All That Glitters, and I did feel happy for her having this experience, even though it was for the wrong reasons. But what made me sad about this was she didn't get to experience it with the people that matter to her, the people that she has known most of her life. Reading All That Glitters I laughed, a lot, I even cried near the end when some things were explained. That part broke my heart just as much as it did Harriet's, and I think she was extremely brave for doing this. All That Glitters is just as amazing as the previous books, and I know I don't mention what happens in the boo, and that this review is mainly my feelings, but that is because I don't want it spoiled for those who have yet to read this one. I want YOU to be surprised at some revelations, I want YOU to feel your heart break over things that are said, and I want YOU to experience this like I did, with no spoilers about hat happens.Final VerdictAnother great book from Holly Smale, and a fantastic addition to this series. Geek Girl fans HAVE to read this one.

Geek Out!
Holly Smale's Geek Girl series is by far one of the brightest and best book series I've ever read, and I think it should be required reading for anyone in secondary school. I would have loved a series like this when I was a kid/teen because Harriet Manners is just so relate-able and her fourth outing is her best yet. What I love about the series is it generally doesn't take itself too seriously, but All That Glitters definitely had a more mature tone to it, which I liked. Harriet is growing up, whether we like it or not, and it can't always be amazing modelling adventures and everything is sparkling and great, because school and life is never like that. Mind you, it is still hard to read about what Harriet's going through because she feels like a friend, someone you're welded to, and it hurts to see a friend hurt. You just want to make it better. All That Glitters broke my heart on a lot of occasions. It still had its hilariously funny moments and Harriet was still as clumsy/geek/awkward as ever, but this is the first time we've really seen her out of her comfort zone - her friends aren't talking to her (and she doesn't know why), Nick is in Australia (SOB), her new modelling agent isn't interested, until she suddenly is and to see Harriet implement her plan to be a "new and improved" Harriet Manners made me want to weep because I love her as she is, but I understood why she did it, because who doesn't want to have friends and be thought of as cool? We all do, really.I'm so sad that there are now only two books left in the Geek Girl series (I wonder if we can persuade Holly to do more, or do a Harriet-as-an-adult series?!?!?!). I have no idea where the final two books will take us - will Nick return? is probably my main question, but I would also LOVE to see more of Jasper. Despite his antagonism toward Harriet I actually really liked him, and sometimes the best relationships come from antagonistic backgrounds, so we'll see. He definitely made an impression.Holly Smale is such a fantastic, bright young author. I admire her so much for bringing me a heroine like Harriet Manners, because geeks really do bloody rule.

Another easy to read, enjoyable installment to the Geek Girl series
Earlier this year, I read the first three Geek Girl books in just one weekend, and from that I was hooked. I absolutely adore this series, despite being an adult, and really love Harriet Manners, and all of her facts. In All The Glitters, Harriet has a new modelling job of sorts in Morocco, and I loved the section of the story set there. Meanwhile her in school life, she is trying her hardest to gain some new friends, and the ways the goes about it are well meant, if a little clumsy and not fully thought out. My lasting impression of the book was that there is a message about being yourself, and not trying to be someone or something your not.

Best book ever😁
I loved this one in fact I love 💘the while series. The last thing I do in the day is read geek girl and the first thing I do on autopilot when I wake up is reach for my kindle fire and read geek girl. I also think kindle is the best way to read these books as it is considerably cheaper than buying it in store (£4 cheaper). If you are a girl aged 11 or above and love fashion , mystery, and romance (like me ) you will absolutely fall in love with this book series
