Thanks for this very helpful and wonderful book!
This is the first book on Vastu Cityplanning that I encountered and I was impressed and pleased to hear that there is a council of experienced and both - Western trained and deeply steeped in the ancient science of Sthapatya Veda - architects, builders. developers and cityplanners one can direct you. I was very impressed of the reports of both Vastu builders /developers and Vastu owners and hope sincerely that this book will find broadest attention in urban city planning commissions across the country/countries. Urbanization is quickly progressing in many countries and we need to address the dangers arising from lack of planning like ghettoization and others..There is an increasing awareness regarding uncontrolled urban sprawl among urban planners and even in the American Institute of Architects and the American Planning Association in terms of the effects on health, social costs, lacks in infrastructure and transportation problems, food deserts, pollution and lack of cross-ventilation, lack of green spaces, educational and business opportunities, the dangers of radicalization, gangs, youth problems etc. This book with its broad scope was like an eye-opener to me and an entrance into a rich source of real solutions. It is modern, not Indian or Eastern, but open to a diversitiy of cultural styles, based on universal principles or laws. It's a vital contribution to the much needed and ongoing public discussion how to implement a healthy, harmonious, progressive quality of life in our cities and metropolitan areas, certainly a first step (as a publication) which hopefully will be followed up with more publications by the same team of authors. It is also a book for people who plan for their own private home they want to get built. Very readable! (From a Ph.D. researcher,.focused on social and quality of life issues, related to urban growth)

Ancient knowledge for modern times
There is quite a power to reading this book, plus it's beautifully illustrated. Many may not know that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has not only brought us the mental technique of Transcendental Meditation (TM), which is the most researched meditation technique available, but Maharishi has also looked deeply into the ancient science of Vastu Architecture, assembling representatives of the oldest family traditions that have miraculously maintained this knowledge for countless generations. Here again the priority is on the effectiveness of the knowledge and technology of architecture in harmony with the total intelligence of life, to make human creations in alignment with the structuring dynamics of the universe. Not as a fancy idea, but to bring that profound energy and good fortune to those who life and work in those buildings. I find that very impressive. Also, this book does not only deal with a general understanding of the principles for individual homes, but extends to a scale of city planning, giving a holistic picture, which is another plus.It should be said however, that this is not a do-it your self book, as the knowledge described requires expert application. Anyone who promises something else would be promising partial knowledge, which cannot give full results. One cannot find a more complete presentation of the fundamental principles and understanding of Vastu architecture as it has been revived by Maharishi. A must have for any one interested in this field.

Original meaning of Vastu.
This book presents the original meaning of Vastu as revived in its integrality by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. It does not only dwell on superficial values as many other books on Vastu present the subject. It addresses the fundamental principles of Vastu that have proven to be true throughout the ages and has been preserved in the Vedic literature of Sthapatya Veda. This is a return to the source, to the true meaning of the influence of living in a proper Vastu building. The authors of this book have been trained extensively by renowned traditional families of Sthapatees in India and through the light of Maharishi Vedic Science are able to present Maharishi Vastu in its original light. The book is also beautifully illustrated which makes it a real pleasure to read.

Practical effects of Vastu
One should know that there are many Vastu books and schools in India and elswere promoting slightly different systems. The original knowledge has been interpreted over centuries depending on chosen Vastu Shastra and on the level of own understanding.Obviuously Jessica Mercay is not an expert in Maharishi Vastu so she can only speak from her own limited understandingsaying that the principles presented in the book are only partially correct.Vastu is not a believe system. The correctness of its Natural Law based principles and practice is verified through concrete measurable effects of Vastu buildings which this book presents with no doubt. As an architect with postgraduate degree in Maharishi Vastu architecture for 20 years I have witnessed with our many clients amazing effects of Vastu structures.

The largest authority on Vastu in the world.
ByMr. A. Pringle, on 26 August 2017Format: PaperbackI have been researching vastu for nearly 20 years and Maharishi Vastu is the largest builder and source of knowledge in the world. It has distilled the pure essence of Vastu in a format that is applicable to everyone. I understand that the enlightened Rishi from the Himalayas, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, spent years looking at all the disperse and contradictory schools of Vastu in India and established the purity within each of them and distilled it into Maharishi Vastu.I would not bother with any other source of Vastu knowledge, for me this is a great source of knowledge.

The best book on Vastu which is available today
The best book on Vastu which is available today - every architect should read it.A lot of diagrams and photos of built Vastu structures are illustrating the Vastu principles in a comprehensive way. It is very interesting to read, how the laws of nature can be implemented in architecture today. The Vastu principles are explained in a very clear and simple way and documented by scientific research.

An interesting, but simplistic, poorly written book, ...
An interesting, but simplistic, poorly written book, with out-of-date material, especially when it describes aspects of design and architecture. It is more a reflection of TM principles, and very less about design, architecture, homes and communities.
