blackout your chrome without paint !
Even around the window trim it was easy to stretch and cut the tape to fit perfectly without a heat gun or any special tools. Has held up to car washes and power washing and the car is parked outside daily. Really good stuff worth the buy! You will need 2 rolls for a full size car!

Wow. So I was really skeptical, and it's only been on for 3 days... but initially I'm impressed.I have some window trim on a 2004 E320 that was badly discolored from sun damage. They skimped on the UV coating apparently as all Benzes in the same years have black trim that turns goldish, purplish, faded silvery, or light black. All 4 pieces age differently so it looks pretty bad. I tried spray coating and all the masking is a pain. The tape however, I precut a few but it's better to put in on directly full width. When I applied the tape, I did a few inches (maybe 6-10) to make sure my line was correct. I then let the tape flow down on its own, like if you had an angle in a metal tape measure... you can adjust the bend in the tape measure by where both hands are... that's how I put down the vinyl tape. It does adhere smoothly that way. I also lightly brushed it with my finger tips to make sure it laid flat. I went back after with a cloth, pressing it firmly down. I used my fingernails to outline the edges I wanted to trim off. I could press pretty deep, so I could see the outline of the window trim piece showing through. I then used a no 11 exacto for a perfect cut all the way around. Any bubbles, I popped with the exacto slightly and pressed the air out. After a day, all the areas I popped were completely flat and it looks like it's been painted with matte black. Really good looking. I was very hesitant to put any "tape" on my car or alter the stock appearance, but this really looks good. We'll see how it handles a midwest winter though. Even then, applying once a year would be ok with me.Edit: 3 Minnesota winters later, it still looks great!

Worked well to conceal welds and holes in below-door pinch seams on two sides of a 4dr Jeep Wrangler
This is a semi-gloss black tape as described and not the glossy black version. It has reasonably good adhesive/adhesion be sure to clean the planned areas well, we also used rubbing alcohol as a final wipe to remove any oils/road grease. The tape is 1 3/8" wide and 20 foot length, it's not particularly thick - it's about half the thickness of typical vinyl electrical tape. One roll at 20 feet length is generally enough to do a single vehicle unless your blacking out all the door, window and windshield trim in which you could need 2 or 3 rolls. You can also find/ buy this product at your local auto parts store.

Garbage
Extremely hard to apply to any bend. It bends awkwardly and creates bubbles. My fingernail slightly touches the tape and it gets a scratch mark and tears a bit, showing some chrome. I don't even see it lasting long and doesn't look good up close, even once you trim it. It looks like tape on your car, which is honestly not what we want people to think. It was worth a shot but I suggest going to a professional to wrap it or paint your trims. I realized I would pay for high quality work instead of this.

Poor quality control
It appears the vinyl roll starts out much wider and is then bulk-cut into the 1.5' wide rolls. I imagine the tool used to cut the roll is quite dull since the edge of the paper backing on the vinyl was frayed. This resulted in tiny bits of paper sticking to the vinyl adhesive once the paper was removed. These paper bits then show through the vinyl as tiny bumps/imperfections. They are nearly impossible to remove and I wasted nearly half a roll and several hours trying to cover the chrome trim on a single car window before I realized what the problem was. I returned the unused roll. It might have been just a bad lot since most of the reviews are favorable, but I won't be taking a second chance.

Good matte finish, good adhesive, good product.
This is a quality product. Nice matte-black finish. I've had it on my Corvette for 2.5 years now (to partially black-out the huge, ugly reverse lights) and it shows no degradation. Good as new.My only nitpick is that it's sometimes a challenge to get the backing off of the tape, but you just have to fiddle with it and you'll finally get a corner peeled back and you're on your way. Of course, it's this stickiness that makes for a good bond to whatever you're sticking the tape too!

Highly recommend!!! Great chrome trim cover.
I used this to cover up some chrome trim on my door handles. So far so good! I laid the tape over the handles and used a razor to cut around the outline of the chrome so it fit almost perfectly. Waited a couple days and then went through the car wash and it stayed on perfectly. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend!

Works perfect
Used this product to black out the ugly chrome trim under the windowson my ford focus titanium model..worked excellent....would have given 5 stars but the ends where it wrapped around (where the trim meets doorjambs) the edges don't want to stick that well.
