Great replacement for your BGE
Better quality than the original Thermometer on my BGE. Fits perfect, has a glass face instead of plastic like the original. Works great!

Fits my large Big Green Egg (BGE)
Amazon says I ordered this over 9 years ago. I thought I needed a new one so I came here to purchase another, but come to find out that mine is still working good. I may order another to have a spare since they are so inexpensive.I prefer the 5 inch stem over a shorter one so I get a reading of the air temp closer to the middle of the BGE dome.I use my BGE frequently in all 4 seasons here in MN and it's still working great - pizza, pecan pie, ribs, brisket, pork shoulder, burgers, steaks, breads, jambalaya, you name it. I have left it in during cleaning burns, but usually do not.I verified its calibration a couple of times since I bought it, very easy to adjust if needed, but hasn't needed that yet.Dome temperature differs from grate temperature by up to 100 degrees - e.g. I'm doing ribs indirect today at 225 dome temp and my grate temp is 326 off to the side of the plate setter. Here's a trick to make it even easier to "read", rotate the thermometer so that your target temperature is in the 12 o'clock position. A quick glance and you can tell if you've overshot your target or are dropping from your target.

Good thermometer, recommended
Large, easy to read dial has been accurate enough for grill cooking. It has been outside all summer and shows not signs of failure. Much less expensive than other options. I would recommend this to a friend.

Great replacement over original
I'm not sure I have ever seen a dome thermometer that is 100% accurate, this one seems to be 90%. I slow cook regularly, requiring a consttn temperature. I use an electronic temperature controller (BBQ Guru DigiQ) which gives precise measures of the pit temps. This one at 250 degrees on the BBQ Guru reads cooler by about 15 degrees. Not a huge deal,a nd once you know the difference you can adjust accordingly.Otherwise a well built improvement over the thermometer that came standard with my BGE.

Great Father's Day Gift
My husband was thrilled with this Father's Day gift. His green egg thermometer had been broken by a klutzy well-meaning friend. He says it works perfect. May have been his best Father's Day gift ever. THANKS!!!!

I love it! It works great! I just wish I could receive the second one that I paid for in my order. I received one of two that I purchased.

I rarely review things but felt like I should share my experience with this product
I rarely review things but felt like I should share my experience with this product. I've purchased three and all three failed within 18 months. More about that below. Here are the basics:-it fits the large BGE;-you need a spacer (I use a medium binder clip) to elevate it away from the top rack in two rack cooks or large items like turkey or pork shoulder;-the range is 150-750 degrees;-initially all were calibrated very accurately. All three failed within 18 months. I wrote off the first bad unit as user error because I left it in during a high heat burnoff to clean the egg. A friend pointed out that mistake so I ordered another and didn't do that again. It failed as well. I the plate setter configuration I was using at the time exposed it to direct heat, although I don't believe it ever registered above 650 degrees. Same friend suggested the direct heat could have caused failure because I was cooking pizza at 650 and direct at that heat directly on the probe might be a problem. That seemed dubious since the range goes up to 750 but I decided to try it again. The third has never been exposed to direct heat and never exposed to heat above 650 degrees and it failed. The third has never been exposed to direct heat or heat above 650 degrees and still it didn't last a year. It's relatively expensive plus not eligible for Prime (almost $10 for three week shipping is ridiculous). I ordered Music City Metals 00011 Heat Indicator Replacement for Gas Grill Model Big Green Egg last night despite mixed reviews. With free two day shipping it's 1/3rd the price.
