Cylinder smooth as butter!
So at first the cylinder was a bit stiff I won’t lie but after a couple of turns it glided as if cutting through butter, Definitely gonna purchase again if it ever fails. It was super easy to do with the instructions, should take no more than 30 mins.

Parts work great and this was the first switch I ever coded to use my original key. Of course I had it all the way and kept the tumblers / wafers in order. Contacted Dorman- OE Solutions concerning conflicting instruction / information concerning how to dismantle my existing lock cylinder to replace the tumblers. The ignItion KEY SWITCH I had (2009 Ford Escape XLT 3.0L V6 FWD) wasn't ever coming out through the bottom as was shown. I had to remove *DESTROY the chrome cover, the (key end) tumbler cap. We got it finally and thus far am happy.~ Deo Vindice [><]

New one OEM quality - failed first use!
Long sad story short: Save yourself multiple repairs and leave pins out (which will allow ignition to be turned with screwdriver, or key or whatever, lol but it won't start without the transponder chip within 4 inches so it's still somewhat secure.Long sad story full details:2004 Ford Focus ZX3If you don't know on the Focus's, especially 2000-2005 these go bad due to poor manufacturer design. To remove:You don't have to do anything fancy (watch a YouTube video to see it done) just remove three screws on the plastic steering wheel shroud and then pop two tabs on the sides. If you are lucky enough to be able to turn your key to accessory / on position (first rotation point, before engine start) then it exposes a hole (which can only be accessed if steering wheel turned 90 degrees right) where you depress the metal cylinder tab that holds it in and once depressed you use your key to pull the ignition cylinder out. Then, at your workbench, you carefully pull the seven pins out with diligence to keep them in order. The pins have tiny numbers stamped on them - one through five.Assembly:You then line the new pins up, using the same number sequence the old pins showed you from your dis-assembly. Once in place in the new cylinder (which might look like a little different style) pop the cylinder in and in VUWALLA your old keys work. I put lots of grease on my new cylinder which I think caused a problem with one of the delicate pins seizing up. SOOOOOOOOO, unfortunately, mine worked once then locked up on me!!!! Stupid Ford design! So I got the car started once, now I can't turn it so will have to drill my new one out (hammer-hit-the-key trick isn't working like it did with my old cylinder). You live and learn. Once out I will remove pins from my original (bad)cylinder, reinstall it without pins, and then be able to start the car with anything (since security provided through proximity chip). Then I will NEVER have this problem again. :-)Locked up first use!!! Why a 5 star review? Well product was at least as good as OEM, it's just Ford has a lousy design and there was an element of user error with too much grease...A fool never learns. An average man learns from his mistakes. A wise man learns from the mistakes of others. For what it is worth, choose which you will be!!!

works but I had to use my noodle to figure out because the instructions did not work
I took out the key lock parts from the old tumbler one by one very carefully and marked where they were by writing down the info, unfortunately installing them, they had to go in the new tumble in a different locations. When I reinstalled them back into the old tumbler in the slots I wrote down the key work correctly, putting the new key lock parts in the same corresponding slots in the new tumbler it did not.....I had to trouble shoot. Instead of the parts going from the left side to the right side as in the old tumbler I had to install the lock parts on one side first then on the other. Once I figured it out it worked! Key is a bit tough going in, but hopefully in time and with use it will loosen up a bit. Did not fix the issue I was having but the old key ignition was a bit worn.

Replacement for outside cylinder
My 2008 Taurus Lock cylinder fell out of my steering column because the keeper tab broke. This kit provided and easy fix for that and I did not have to program anything, just swap the cover to the inner cylinder and tumblers.

Buena calidad
No es necesario un cerrajero, sólo hay que estar concentrado y poner atención para calibrar el cilindro conforme a la llave.
