Good choice
Non conventional usage but they work really well. Well built as well. I now have two sizes, 5/31/25, sill well made. Using them to attach my parachutes to their rockets. Like I said, nonconventional but they should work just as well for their intended purpose.

Impossible to open and huge.
These might be better for younger and or stronger hands, (although there is a lot of feedback on these being very hard to impossible to open). I have never had swivels that were this hard to open. I really never fished with them and yes, I tried to open them with a hemostat, but then found other swivels I had that just worked better. I would believe they are way more than a 31-pound test, but for fishing in a lake in central Minnesota, you don't need any more. I will try these again later, but for heavens sakes don't just take just these on a long wilderness canoe trip, or other interesting fishing destinations and expect them to open like a normal swivel. They are also huge, not a problem for some destinations and actually helps prevent pike bite offs, but in very clear water on a heavily fished lake, you will catch a lot more fish with subtle approach (for example VMC 40-pound swivels that are 1/5th to 1/7th the size of these, and those I am going to buy more of). No. I do not recommend these, except using their size to help prevent Pike, Cuda... bite offs, tradeoff is, you will catch a lot fewer fish in heavily fished clear water, if you can get them open. Tight lines.
