Stainless Steel Boston Whaler Stern Light Stanchion

Beautiful piece of hardware! Excited to have this setup for light at night, and for a flag pole during the day.If you need directions and mounting diagram for this stern light stanchion set, go to Specialty Marine's website and you'll see downloadable pdf's.Apparently, the black ring needs to be cut to be a split ring so that you can actually slide a standard 3/4" stern light pole through it and have the knurled nut tighten it.Also, if you use a standard, off-the-shelf stern light with a pre-wired female end, you may need to disassemble that and then re-wire with a waterproof connector to the end. These parts are beautiful! They fit the boat. They fit perfectly the odd diameter stern light tube. They fit the original screw hole mounting.They have perfect finish. They are basically exact stainless steel copies of the chrome ( over) brass originals that Boston Whaler used , but salt water will never bubble off the finish.

This item looks used to me. There was a couple small burrs on the metal that I cut my finger on and several scratches on it. It was still a little cheaper than specialty Marine and some other ones that I saw so I don't regret buying it. I also needed to cut the plastic O-ring so that it would fit around my three-quarter inch light. It wasn't gonna fit without me cutting that. Once I did that it fits fine although it's still slightly loose one to tighten but it will work. I filed the burrs off and cleaned it up and it looks OK. I do feel this item is really overpriced for what it is but I couldn't find it anywhere cheaper than this.
