Superb upgrade To mac Pro
I do a lot of Motion and FCP work on my mac pro (2010 tower) and this immediatly boosted performance to a level where there I can work in real time (HD) without having to wait for rendering.Probably 30% overpriced as it is officially a 'Mac' product.Great upgrade to prolong the life of your mac.

Just the ticket!
I have an ageing 2008 Mac Pro 3,1. Adding this card to it has brought it right up to date! It even adds Airplay screen mirroring to send your screen to an Apple TV! I just plug in the included power cables and hey presto it just works perfectly! Just remember to put it into slot 2. It's also whisper quiet in operation too! Couldn't be happier!

Works on 2008 Mac 3,1
Bought this primarily for Photoshop CC. Standard 2D desktop performance on a 30 inch monitor at full resolution is a little faster than the standard ATI 2600 and as it for a work machine I haven’t tested the 3D gaming but I assume that it will be incredibly fast. The main advantage for me is that I can enable all the advanced hardware acceleration options in Photoshop and with 3gb of ram the difference is huge. I'm glad I bought this rather than the overpriced Radeon HD 5770 or 5870 from Apple.

Fantastic performance
Installed into an early 2009 Mac Pro with no issues. Very fast in both Mac and Windows 8.1 (via bootcamp). Comes with lots of cables, driver disks etc which you don't really need. My Mac Pro had a 4780. I unplugged both power cables, removed card, inserted new one, plugged both cables back in started the Mac. Mavericks recognised the card instantly.Windows 8.1 needed to install the Catalyst drivers, but again, very easy.Recommended.

Power Mac early 2008
Nice product , I have a little issue with it if I turn the monitor before the tower , but it work perfectly if I do it the other way around . I do have a old power mac early 2008 . Great Update .

Has intermittent flickering (every 30 mins or so)
I've been through two of these cards now, and both have the same problem.I have been in contact with Sapphire who suggest Apple and AMD MIGHT sort it out with the next OS update. Frankly, it's not good enough,it's been months since release and it's still not working, thus I recommend you not buying one unless you absolutely must.Having googled a bit, this appears to be a pervasive problem.

Sapphire card for mac pro
It is not often that i get a product that leaves me speachless. This is one of those products.I have a mac pro 3.1 and with the new mac pro 2013 announced I had thought to rob my savings and renew my love of all things Mac by getting the new model. Trouble is the old model is pretty damn good. So rather than spend upwards of £5000 on the new model, instead I invested in this Sapphire mac edition card.Very importantly it has dual efi swithes to enable mac use or windows use. It comes default for Mac. Inserting the card was the usual simple matter given the beautiful mac pro design, removable side panel and loads of spece. I have read the sometimes cards placed in slot one can cause problems so I opted for slot 2. The card is wide taking up two slots of the 4 so be warned. However, this is the same with all cards of this calibre. There were two 6 pin power cables supplied, so no worries with connections. Also, handily there was a couple of graphics adapters so no matter what screen you connect to, you will have an appropriate adabpter or connection.I fitted the card and, having mountain lion installed, just switched on and it worked. Boot scren appeared - hurrah, this disappears when you try fitting PC cards.First impression - absolute silence. Not even a slight humSo being technical I ran novabench scores and to my delight got a score for my aging mac pro of 1347, and given that a mac pro 5.1 recently tested gave a score of 1335, this was a great result. I then turned on x-plane version 10, turned all the settings to maximum and the simulation was as smooth as silk - not judder and a very impressive 35 fps. This test had my previous card (xfx hd6870 2gb) running at max capacity. Apart from a slight noise from the fan, and I mean slight, there was no strain on the system. This card has transformed my Mac experience. I cannot recommend it enough. Sorry Apple, but you make machines too darn good to replace. With the money I have saved, i bought two external raid systems from icy box, 8 x 3 gb hdds for storage, 20 gb ram, a 27 inch digital monitor and still have a pocket full of money saved from not buying a new mac pro. Do the math!!!Addendum - months on and not even a smidge of trouble. Best buy by far.
