Dangerous junk
As another reviewer noted, there is a metal terminal at the end of the heating element that can potentially cause a short. It is connected to the 110V hot wire and goes inside the not very solidly grounded metal shield so it's a dangerous and very serious defect. On mine it stuck out past the insulation wrapped around the heating element and was touching the metal. Fortunately I plugged it into a GFI outlet which tripped instantly and prevented any real damage. After bending that in and moving the insulation up to prevent it from shorting again it worked, at least for a little while. I tried to measure and correct the temperature which seemed to vary by up to 30F even though the display was suspiciously steady and never changed at all. After maybe 10 minutes of running it sounded like the fan started hitting something inside and then stopped. Maybe I could fix that too but at that point I decided the quality control on these is bad enough that it's better just to return it and look elsewhere.

Works great after the modifications below are made.
I removed the mica sheet on the heating element to get rid of the nasty smell and added a GFCI to the outlet that it plugs into in case the heating element shorts to the grounded metal tube it goes into. Airflow is terrible so I removed a metal cover plate on the end of the hot air station. And cut the back out to increase air flow. I also bent a piece of metal that stuck out from the heating element which could potentially short the element to the ground and cause the air station to heat up uncontrollably and cause a fire.

Extremely dangerous fire hazard
When first plugging in this device, it heated to a beautifully radiant orange glowing hot. Except it wasn't turned on. I tried turning it on and off, and eventually it powered down. But the next time I plugged it in, it did the same thing. It heats up unchecked without being powered on, and reducing the temperature setting doesn't help. Toggling it off and on can fix the problem, but it's too much of a risk to take. Spend a little more and get something made by a company you've heard of.

Works as expected
Sturdy product design to do various applications. It comes with a variety of nipples which makes the work easier, allowing you to direct the hot air to small areas. The temperature gauge is pretty accurate.

5 star
Haven’t used it yet but shipping was on time and product seems very well made.

Don't waste your time and money
Should have read the reviews closer. Got the gun. Plugged it in. Green light. Turned it on. Loud pop and sparks shot out the end of the heating tube. Nice. Looked like a 4th of July sparkler.

Returned unit
The unit did not provide ample air flow. The company still owes me 0.26 cents.
