I'm 6'4" 240, my legs are Not tooth picks, These are more of a compression sock, For ME.They are soft and have worn them for a few months now, as a compression sock, 5 stars.I was not LOOKING for a compression sock, so if you have strong legs, they will be tight!!

First, I like my socks tight around my feet so that there is no "extra" material to flop around in my shoe/boots. I have found this is why I wear out socks faster due slipping around in them & in my shoes, from my activities. I wear holes in Dickies in a short period. As someone mentioned they are Cotton padded soles, which are really comfortable, but subject to wear.With that said, the fit and function of the sock is exactly as described and I liken them to Baseball League designs, meaning they do fit TIGHT around the top to keep them from slipping. I am men 10 and my calf is 6+ inches diameter (~19 circumference). These socks come over my calf at the top (~16 inches flat heeled to top) and definitely leave a mark, but the DO NOT fall down either! I have used these exclusively as a BOOT sock and they are perfect. The design is exactly as described including the 'venting' areas (that work well) and although the sole is well padded, the rest of the sock is neither too thick nor too thin in each area and even in the transition areas as they show.

I am a 5'10' senior woman and a knee sock addict and these are the best socks I have ever purchased in the last 60 years.....yes, 60. They have the perfect amount of compression, they go all the way up to my knee and they stay there until I take them off. They don't squeeze, slide or stick to what I'm wearing including skinny jeans. I just bought 3 more pairs.
