GREAT alternative to replacing a key for cosmetic damage!
I bought a used F15 series X5M, and the prior owner took absolutely horrible care of the key fobs. The internals work well, but the BMW logos and the metallic paint on the side pieces were chipped off badly. BMW wanted $450 for each key to replace them, and they do not sell the individual components for cosmetic repair. So I found a company on here that sold the BMW sticker logo replacement for the lock button, and those replacements were absolutely perfect and cheap. Then I found this key fob shell, so for the price, this was a much better solution for me.And it's ultimately a nearly-perfect solution. The M series has black buttons, not silver ones, so I never intended to use the entire shell. Also, I wanted to keep the original key base (which includes the physical grooved key in case the battery dies). So all I needed was the metallic side piece. The color is a little mismatched from the OEM key; the OEM side piece is a little shinier whereas this is slightly more of a matte silver. It's close, but not perfect. Also, the screw hole that connects this replacement side piece to the plastic fob is drilled about 0.5mm too high for the OEM shell. The screw still fits, but it has to go in at a slight angle, and I think it slightly strips the plastic in doing so. I don't feel comfortable removing the screw (not that I ever would), for fear of stripping the now-expanded grooves and not making a tight fit again. Finally, there is about an extra half millimeter of gap between the key base and the side piece compared with the complete OEM fob.I've included pictures showing the entire process. They tell the story.Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the result. I'd really like to give this 4.5 stars instead of 5, because it's a nearly perfect fit but certainly not a perfect fit. But I'm not demoting them to 4 stars either; their solution saved me >$400 over replacing the key. If you only have cosmetic damage, this is a great solution. I can't comment on how the internals fit, because I didn't use this for that purpose. I can say that the buttons feel very high quality, and the weight of the entire construct feels the same in my hand to the original. Keep up the good work, Horande! If you ever sell just the side piece alone, I'd buy it for my other scuffed fob! :)

Beautiful replacement for an old tattered FOB
First off, it does not come with the center metal BMW logo. You will need to buy that separately. But that is a trademark issue and I understand that the manufacturer wants to play by the rules. The genuine logo will cost you an additional $10 to $15. I like the fact that it snaps together tightly. Is every bit as strong or stronger than the OEM key fob. And let's face it nobody wants to spend $450 on a new key fob at the BMW dealership! This will not work for you if your key fob is not working, as it uses the circuit board from the old key fob to work.

Good replacement, does NOT have the BMW logo
Works fine as a replacement for my broken OEM shell which no longer stayed together. This doesn't have the BMW logo on the button as some have reported, at least not anymore. The case snaps together unlike the original one which was glue so you can't combine the back of the replacement shell with the front of the original one. It doesn't feel as high quality in the hand as the original, but works as described. As noted in the images, be mindful of the small spring inside. It's not glued on so if you lose it, the button to release the cut key will not work.

Excellent
Feels well-made. Everything fit together nicely. Parts snap together securely, while possible to snap apart again if you need. It's a little heavier than the original fob because the key is all metal instead of the OEM plastic on metal blade, but I like the heavier feel. Disassembling the OEM fob to remove the circuit board is the hardest part because you have to cut it to split open. Most people will use a utility knife, but I used a multi-tool.

Great Product, Can save you up to $500
I was about to buy a new key for something like $4-500. Mine was beat up and ugly, also it was the all black model. I decided to take a chance for less than $20 on this product. I wasn't worried if it didn't work or if I destroyed my key in the process, so keep in mind if you mess up you could easily cost yourself $4-500 for a new key. First step was to take a box cutter to the OEM BMW key and cut it open. Then you had to carefully pop open the fob without damaging the circuitry, and finally transfer the circuit board and battery over. The BMW logo looks great, the buttons work great, and the comfort access feature is not affected. Overall it was one of the best upgrades for my F30, especially for less than $20!!I gave this 4/5 stars instead of 5/5 because the slide in key does not fit 100% snugly. You can see it in the picture, its not a big deal because it doesn't bother me much and my key looks and feels 100x better now. Looks no different than a M4 key!

This case worked for us!
Broke BMW X3 key fob case when trying to replace battery. Oops! But the insides were still good so I went ahead and purchased this case in hopes that we could avoid going to the dealer who quoted over $500 for a new key fob. This totally worked! You have to still have the insides, but all the pieces and the battery fit perfectly (no battery provided; we had one already). So for a fraction of the cost, we have fixed our problem. Amazing! Case doesn't seem that sturdy (although neither was the original), but all that matters is that our key fob works again! (P.S. Did not come with BMW sticker for case.)
