8 1/2 Inch Summer Gel Memory Foam Mattress - Queen

I have only had this bed for 3 nights, so my review may not be as helpful yet. I will up date as we go to give you a better idea.We bought a queen sleep number bed 10 years ago. The basic mattress, no digital numbers, just a simple remote with an up or down button. It was Okay for a while, nothing spectacular. But these past few years I have HATED that mattress!!! Hubby liked it, so we kept it a lot longer than I wanted. I had trouble falling and staying asleep and would wake up with terrible back pain. I never could find my "magic number". I will never own another one, I promise you!We had the same qualms about a memory foam as everyone, support, temperature, longevity. But we took a chance and decided to try it. Didn't like the idea of going back to an inner spring either now that that demon bed has my back so messed up. We didn't have a lot of cash, so after reading the reviews we gave it a shot.It got here in a reasonable amount of time. We decided to also trade up to a king size, so the box was pretty long and heavy. Easy enough for the 2 of us to handle though. We unrolled it right onto the bed frame and it started inflating immediately. Id say 3 to 4 hours and it was full size. I noticed a chemical smell, but it is not what some reviews led me to expect. It is a very light scent, you really have to smash your face in the mattress to smell it. By the time we put sheets on and crawled into bed that night I never noticed a thing. To be safe I had the window open for a couple of hours, but the room never smelled windows open or shut.The bed is firm, to me. But that's not a complaint! We have 3 dogs that sleep with us and usually their movements wake me up. If not them my hubby seems to fight ninjas in his sleep for all his violent tossing and turning. I never felt a thing from them! That first night was strange, it being so different from our other mattress. We both woke up a bit stiff, but my back felt so much better than it normally does!! The second night was even better. I was comfortable right off, no hunting for a good position. Sitting up watching TV I didn't get numb spots on my heels or butt. I feel awesome this morning.I was terrified I had made a mistake and would be stuck with another crappy mattress, but so far I am very, very happy. I would recommend this to anyone, and buy it again. I'll try to up date in a few months.UPDATE*Its been several months now, and I have a little more insight. Im only very slightly less pleased than when I first reviewed this bed. The bed has yet to get "broken in". Its still just as firm laying on it now as the first night. Since for some that may be a plus I did not change my stars.However for me, it's maybe too firm. I think adding a topper will make it perfect. It definitely has plenty of support!I have not noticed a problem getting too hot at night, or any more so than with my old mattress.No chemical smell after a few days.I put this mattress directly on top of frame that doesn't require a box spring or anything, and did not want a foot board in my way. I am running into an issue with the mattress being so light it slides around a bit. You might want to keep that in mind when picking a frame.I still say its quite a deal for the price, and anyone needing a good firm mattress will enjoy this.

I was a little doubtful when the mattress arrived, but this is a heavy, thick foam mattress. We bought this for our 12-year old son on the top bunk of a bunk bed. He loves it and sleeps longer than ever (maybe approaching teenage, though). I would recommend it, although if you're looking for a firm mattress, this isn't what you're looking for.

I never ever write reviews but I took a gamble on getting this mattress online and I deeply regret it! You are better off sleeping on the floor! "Medium firm" is not a phrase I would use to describe this mattress. "Hard as a rock" would be more like it. My back has been killing me since the moment I slept on it.BEWARE OF THE (NON-EXISTENT) RETURN POLICY - I want to return this immediately but they don't offer free returns like Amazon offers for other products! Now I have to pay all of this money to return this terrible slab of discomfort. CoutureSleep called me and tried to sell a mattress topper for $100 to try to make it better!! Outrageous. DO NOT BUY THIS.

Way too soft for me; conforms to my shape but has no support,causes me to sink in and makes difficult to change positions.

I took a big risk buying this mattress with only two non-specific reviews about the product.I buy a lot on Amazon because I don't have the time or patience to drag all my kids out to go shopping, and I rely heavily on product reviews.We recently moved cross-country and were not able to bring our bed with us. It was a higher-end coil mattress and we also had a memory-foam topper to go on top. Things I hated about the coil mattress were that anyone moving on the bed would disturb whoever else was on the bed. We co-sleep, and on the coil mattress, my son would end up tucked right under me or my husband because he would roll into the indention. It would also get insanely hot with the memory foam topper.This mattress came today, and I am insanely impressed. We bought the king size, for reference. I was really worried about the thickness of the mattress, my husband played football and weighs around 250, and I worried that if he sat on the bed, it would compress completely with his weight, but it doesn't. I was even able to walk around on it without it completely compressing.The mattress comes rolled up in a box the width of the bed, when you take the two layers of plastic off, it will start to decompress and fluff up- it did not take long at all for ours to completely "inflate." There is a smell when you open it, which is completely normal and expected of any new product made with synthetic material, but after a few hours the smell is really only noticeable if you have your face right against it.My baby is sleeping on the mattress right next to me, my older boys have come in and jumped on the bed and he hasn't shifted or even noticed their movements, and he's a light sleeper. We all also get hot very easily and I was worried after hearing so many people tell me they got too hot on memory foam. The gel layer on the top is amazing, it keeps you cool, and it feels amazing, it's so comfortable. The top layer gives the bed enough just enough give, and the foam layer is really supportive.The brand of this bed is Nature's Sleep. I looked the company up on the internet and found that this particular bed retails at over $2,000. They also offer a ten year warranty if you register the product online within thirty days.
