This is a great book, although I was hoping for more from the audio book version. My hopes of Norman actually reading his own work were dashed when some average Joe started reading after the forward. I wonder if there was a technical editor who listened to it before it went to press, as there are several mispronunciations of firefighting lingo. There are also areas of "dead air" and repetitions of lines, along with the paper shuffling noises in the background from time to time. It's not bad for about the first half, but it gets worse as you go along. Like I said, the information is still great, but the presentation leaves a lot to be desired. I just expected more......

This book is still the most relevant tactical guidebook for fire officers I have come across (and I've read many). The best thing about it is it is well written and interesting to read. At no point did I find any of the information dry or dated. I will read this again and again throughout my career as it is a no B.S. tactical guide (unlike almost every IFSTA guide out there)

Great book. Very very well written and is definitely useful for certain classes. Amazing pictures and very easy to read.

Norman’s book is eminently useful for a company officer or firefighter. Highly recommended

This was a great addition to the book for studying purposes. If you do not need this edition of the book for a promotional exam, I would recomend waiting to purchase when the new 4th edition comes out soon (so the word from Penwell is).

There is some good information in there somewhere, if you can sift through the stories of how he personally saved the world. Only bought it because it was on a promotional exam.
