Q: What is the thickness? Can it be folded and creased to fit inside a rectangular shape (lampshade)?

It is 0.010" Thick, It can be rolled or cut into the shapes desired, Completely folding it flat to create square or rectangular shapes may cause it to tear along the crease.

Q: How flexible is this material? Is it close to that of a thick trash bag, or more like camera film

It's thick enough to lose two F stops of light even though translucent rather than white which makes it pretty tear-resistant when flat for example on glass. I do not hesitate to carefully place non-sharp objects on top of it on top of glass. It's .010 (inch) thick, which will be much stiffer than thick trash bags that are measured in thinner thousandths of an inch: I don't think there are any that thick. I would guess it is way thicker than both, as film is 2.4-7 mils thick, depending on the brand. So if your film is 2.4 mils thick it is 4 times as thick.
