Ateco 5 Wheel Stainless Steel Cutter, 2 1/8 Inch Wheels

Makes perfect shaped cookies. Very heavyweight and professional quality. Blades are quite sharp. The lock is simple but effective.

I've seen less expensive 5 wheel pasta cutters and can tell from the photos they will easily bend when used due to using thinner material and handles. The Ateco cutter is very well made. the pantograph is made of stainless steel which is 1/8th inch thick. It's not going to bend. The blades are sharp. Blade spacing is easily adjustable and has 1 wingnut that when tightened will hold the width of the cutters from moving during use. Note that the wingnut doesn't really have to be tightened as the pantograph will hold its width by friction in each of the pivot points. It is heavier that I thought it would be which is a good thing for strength. This is a quality tool. I love it

When I first opened the package, I thought the stainless steel was bad quality as it is not the shiny or matte 304 grade stainless steel I am more used to getting for food related tools. The color for this is off, like a darker color. I was worried about the quality of the stainless steel but I read the description for this product again and it does say it is food grade stainless steel and its Ateco so I should trust the reputation. It is very heavy and it does work well. The locking mechanism does lock the wheels to a specific length that is desired and stays locked while using it. I have used it for puff pastry and it makes everything so much easier, neater and hence, more professional looking even though I'm an amateur.

I bought a cheaper brand first, it was too flimsy and impossible to keep the blades locked. This one is much more sturdy, you can set the spacing and they stay firmly in place. It's also heavier which makes it easier to cut through the pastry (you don't have to bear down as much). Happy with this purchase.

Heavy duty, good quality. I would not opt for the cheaper varieties as this is nice, hefty, and does not wobble like some cheaper alternatives. Worth the extra cost.

Excelente producto, muy robusto, pesado, de inmejorable calidad, el único detalle es que al abrir las ruedas a distancias cortas como por ejemplo de 2cm. por lo mismo de lo pequeño la tuerca no aprieta y si no lo sujetas bien con tus manos, se va abriendo o cerrando conforme avanzas en el corte. Sin embargo a distancias mayores, la tuerca hace su trabajo y ni se cierra ni se abre.

Good and sturdy. Cuts thinner items. I mostly use it to mark bars so I can cut them uniformly. Works well.

I use this to mark crackers before putting in dehydrator. Makes them the same size and easy to snap apart when finished. Item is sturdy, good quality, and only 2 screws to tighten at appropriate cutting size so easy to handle with my hands that are getting more fumbly with age.
