Happy Home: Everyday Magic for a Colorful Life

Spark your creative side.
This book got to me in great condition. The book itself has been so inspiring. I'd checked it out from the public library so often. Felt it was time to have my own copy. If you like vivid beautiful colors and are independent in the way you think about designing you're home, this book just has so many ideas that spark others. It felt like being a young child in a candy store. Bought another by this same author with outdoor decorating. Now have inspiration inside and out!

Happy colors, happy home
I love color and was very excited to discover this book. It definitely is inspiring and gave me bunch of ideas for our new house that we are moving into in 2 months. I'm crazy about the Scandinavian decor style with white walls, white floors with punches of color and mix of patterns. But I live in New England and it's my challenge to try to incorporate the Scandi sense into our 60's colonial home.Looking through this book makes me happy. I want my home to make me feel that way, too. I can't wait to incorporate some of the ideas from it - Make pretty lampshades to hang over dining table; paint beautiful bold colors to make accent walls; have lots of decorative pillows in vintage/retro textiles; and try wallpapering. I'm inspired!

Colorful
Charlotte Guéniau’s “Happy Home, Everyday Magic for a Colorful Life,” is an ode to color- colorful walls, accent pieces, wall paper, furniture, dinner ware, drinkware... you name it!The author encourages you to embrace color in your space, giving you examples of how to do so through the many pictures. The decor in this book is certainly quirky, colorful, at times whimsical, definitely maximalist... it’s “glitter, glamour, glass, neon and a little Ganesh” (P67).I admired Mrs Guéniau’s fearless use of colorful... everything, being able to put together pieces that appear well loved that don’t go together whatsoever. The only thing that tied the pieces together was color.Though I wouldn’t go all out as Mrs. Guéniau has done, I am inspired to bring in more color with small touches.

Not So Happy Home
I was really disappointed with this book. To me, it is like looking through a huge catalogue for RICE products. You might choose two or three things from it for your home but not this many. I love bright colours, but I would become completely crazy if I lived in the author's (and owner of RICE) house. All of this colour and mish and mash of stuff would make for a very confused life indeed. I looked through it once but had no desire to pick it up again. However, I did but my opinion has not changed. It didn't inspire me or give me any new ideas. There are lots of other books out there which are worthy of the title Happy Home.

Colorful, Happy, Bright!
I absolutely love this book and the freedom it gives you to break away from the 'basic'. I plan on staying in my home for a long time, so why not make it fun? The author gives lots of ideas, along with wonderful pictures, of using color and your own "treasures" to make your living space your 'Happy Home". Can't wait to get started!

Beautiful book
Even if there was nothing inside, the colorful cover of this book makes me so happy! I keep it on my coffee table in the living room of our lake house. I love color and I just love looking through this book at all the imaginative and beautiful use of color. So fun!

Happy home, for a Happy home.
Great book, for lovers of colour and colourful accents/accessories. Although the it is about 'Rice' products, I found great inspiration from the room layouts and how to use them in my small home. Good for those who are unsure/afraid of using colour on walls. I did get the library book first and loved it, so I now have this copy for my home library.
