Pretty Swing
Some of the predrilled screw holes did not line up. I had to purchase a battery operated drill to finish the job.I wish to rewrite my review. I had a neighbor come over and he was able to shift the swing pieces back and forth to line up the predrilled screw holes and got the screws all in for me. So sorry for the bad review. I love the swing and you just need someone who knows what they are doing to put it together. Beautiful swing!!

A beautiful porch swing
Really a great swing. Superior design and materials, and easy to assemble. Well worth the price. ( I made the cup holders from cedar, painted them to match our front door.)

Just as advertised
great product, proper packaging, arrived in great condition with all parts needed. we added two coats of poly for outdoor protection and it looks great and it very comfortable. I think it will last for years.

Exactly what I wanted!
I also built the frame and stained it the same color as the bench. I sit here every afternoon to feed peanuts to the squirrels!

Easy to assemble, difficult to paint
Bought this to replace a fabric porch swing in a metal frame that had ripped through. Hung using the original swing's springs with the supplied chains. Worked out great. Highly recommend to others. The only difficult part was painting the swing - getting between all the slats and in all the corners & crevices - before assembling it. It was very tedious. As per the advice from the paint department at HD I used an outdoor colored stain that looks like paint that is made for fences. Going on my 3rd summer with it and it's holding up beautifully. Sits out all winter long uncovered with no problems. It's not the most comfortable swing ever so I put a cushion on it in the summer and some pillows on both ends. Nice spot to sit & read awhile.

Solid build, okay finish.
My main reason to buy the unfinished swing was to stain it to my liking. Of course the 800 lb load capacity is also a good reason to consider with numerous kids around and any possible combination of adults and kids on the swing. The box has the preassembled back, seat and arm rests as well as the chains. There are no hangers or springs included. Instructions are included, although with only 4 parts it's unlikely that you'd assemble it wrong anyway.Build quality is great. The predrilled holes line up well when assembling and the overall fit of the parts is pretty good. Just don't tighten the screws until all are in place (including the eye bolts at the end of the chains). These swings are sturdy and a bit heavy. The 70 lb of the swing itself of course factor in for the strength off the comfort spring (if you plan to add one). The finish is good for a raw bench and suitable for the typical outdoors. Just don't expect a furniture grade finish. Also, if you stain it yourself it can roughen up and you might need to get some steel wool to tame the roughness. The style is traditional and will most likely fit typical porch swing scenarios. It's not too Victorian or ultra modern. So I guess that makes it just right. The wood is soft and I'd recommend to add protection as soon as possible. I stained mine with a protective coat the same day.Shipping $40 reflects the weight. It took a few days to be sent out, and overall it took a bit over a week from date of order until delivery. (Every now and then, FedEx seems to forget how to find my address and it was promptly "wrong" the first attempt but without problems the next day.)

Great swing, nice price, easy assembly
This swing is a very nice swing. I am an advanced hobby carpenter, but did not have the time to build one in my rare spare time. So I decided to buy one of these. It is made in the USA from treated pine (which is how I would have done my own, had I decided to make one). I highly doubt it is truly "Amish" as their furniture tends to use lots of old-school joinery and fine finish details. This swing instead uses modern Phillips head screws and and is designed and assembled like a moderately skilled carpenter would do, not a master crafstmas. That being said, it is so cheap and the quality sufficient that I think it's a great value for the price, and a very nice swing. I purchased an unfinished version because I wanted to paint it to match my house. Assembly was a breeze. The holes do not line up perfectly like a few other reviews noted, but that is expected with treated pine which warps and warps and warps even long after it's been dried out. Only complaint is that the supplied chains were a few inches too short for my 8 foot porch ceiling. I added some springs to lengthen them and that did the trick. It painted fine and was easy to hang and adjust with just one person (it's not that heavy). I highly recommend this swing.

There were 2 holes for the side arm rails that were miss aligned.
I had to drill 2 additional hole positions that did not line up on the side rails. Other than that, It's exactlywhat we ordered.Keith
