Combination Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector, Smoke Co Alarm for Home Bedroom Travel Portable

I purchased this combination smoke and CO2 detector alarm for use in a garage. It is easy to operate by installing the batteries, and that's it. There is a hush/test button on the front. I tested the smoke alarm by burning some paper in a can, and the alarm didn't go off until it was really smoking, so it isn't very sensitive. That's good if you hate those false alarms. I haven't tested it with CO2.There is a mounting plate that you twist the device onto, but it doesn't come with mounting hardware. I kept mine on a shelf, so it wasn't a deal-breaker for me.Overall, I didn't find any flaws with this product and can recommend it. 5/5 stars

I like the combination of the two but I would always keep an extra hardwired or secured battery device installed also in a separate place. This is great to have with you when you travel and it uses 3 AA batteries that are removable which is great. They needed to include a separate cover for the batteries besides the back plate you can screw into the wall though. Especially for people who actually want to mount it like that. The photoelectric sensor used for the smoke detector part is good as is the electrochemical CO sensor. You would be surprised how many still use a piezoelectric sensor aka an Ionization sensor in place of it.This is well made except the missing battery cover which wasn't supposed to be there in the first place I guess. It doesn't make sense not to include on in my opinion, but other then that this is a great device. I probably will get another couple later on. The firefighter in me says to remind people that these are not foolproof and always maintain situational awareness. Also be aware that the sensor in these type devices DO NOT PICK UP natural gas or any other combustible gas prior to combustion. Not as far as a leak from the source anyway. It will only sense the byproduct CO that is produced during the combustion process.

This was easy to install and easy to test. The instruction manually does a good job explaining where to put it. I didn't have any problems installing it but the instructions did not list what size to use to drill a hole. I ended up using and 11/64 drill to make holes for the wall anchors and that size worked well for me.I like how to put in the battery and that it is not the red and black wire that you have to fiddle with. Also, the detector flashes the green LED every 45 seconds to let you know it is working. That is nice.

Starts alarming at random and for no reason. I have 3 other combo detectors in the same area of the house, which I installed at the same time as this one, that have not alarmed. This has happened twice in the last month, once in the middle of the night. Bought these 3 months ago, so it is past the return window.

Bought two of these. No indication of which way to put the batteries in it. (Positive/negative) Was able to get it to test. bought these because they recommended them for smoke. Could not get it to go off with a test of smoke.Our Kidde alarm went off right away.I don't think I will trust these units. Throwing them away.

It worked till battery died... now everytime i replace batreries it chirps low battery ...i know you need ti reset them. And ive tried everything to reset it...nothing seems to work

I learned the other day when I accidentally let water boil out of a pan that it works just fine.
