Lightweight
Some assemble required but its easy work. Cargo carrier itself is lightweight but strong. One person can easily install onto vehicle. Would recommend!

Nice carrier!
I really wasn’t expecting much out of this especially with the plastic corner prices but I use this often. It has hauled 6 full 5 gallon gas cans many times. It has held up very well. Lightweight. Easy and quick to assemble. I use a bolt on hitch stabilizer to keep it tight while using it.

Decent Assembly Design
Went to assemble, found instructions missing from package. Parts were easy enough to figure out the design, but one cross bar was damaged and didn't slot in. I was able to get it to fit with a little effort and time with needle nose pliers. Emailed the support address, they sent a PDF very quickly. Instructions indicated that the hitch bolt and its pin were also missing. No big deal - I use a locking pin and wouldn't have used them anyway. I would have had trouble with assigning some of the screws to the correct locations without the instructions, which really speaks to the thought put into the assembly process - because everything else was reasonably easy to figure out WITHOUT instructions. Seems solid after finishing assembly. Haven't had occasion to use it, given I finished assembly earlier today.

Nice cargo carrier
Works well takes a little time to put together. Nice to add a little more cargo room to my suv.

Lightweight, Sturdy, and Handles Heavy Loads with Ease
The MaxxHaul aluminum cargo carrier has been a great addition to our outdoor gear setup. It’s lightweight yet surprisingly sturdy, and assembly was quick and straightforward. It fits securely on our hitch and feels solid even when fully loaded. We’ve used it to haul a fully packed Yeti cooler, camping gear, and even a 22” Blackstone griddle—with no issues at all. It handles the weight well and gives us a lot more room inside the vehicle for longer trips. Highly recommended if you need extra cargo space without adding a ton of weight.

Great Purchase
I'm very pleased with this carrier. It is exactly what I wanted - lite weight, well-built, and sturdy. And I'm so glad there was very little assembly required.

Great tool for when you need it!
Bought a couple years ago. Used once and it served its purpose well. Had a little bit of rattle when mounted but nothing a small wood shim couldn’t fix. Interestingly enough, I left it outside behind my garage through two harsh New England winters. I found it a couple days ago when I needed to pick up some fuel. To my surprise, it held up amazingly. Still works as intended. Still looks good all things considered. Oh and still needs a shim.

Tons of play, horrible tolerances
Don’t buy this cargo basket unless you have the ability to fabricate. The tolerances on this are absolutely garbage, tons on slop in the 2” receiver and the cross section where the aluminum basket attaches to the steel bar and supports. I ended up using a 5/8” bolt to attach to the receiver, then drilled a second hole at 5/16” to thread a second bolt to eliminate the vertical slop. I wrapped the 2” tube with gorilla tape to take up some slop since the provided tube measured at 1-7/8” on a micrometer caliper, so with the tape and the two bolts the tube became tight in the receiver. Now, I had to take up the play in the steel cross supports that attached to the square tube. The play was over 1/8” per side where it saddles the square tube, the provided bolts would never be enough to take up all this slop. I broke out the welder, prepped the surface and laid a bead down. Now when installed there is about a 1/2” of play side-to-side and very little vertical. Before all this there was 6”+ side to side and 4”+ vertical. It will work now, but I can’t recommend anyone purchase this item.

This is a very sturdy yet lightweight hitch mount cargo carrier, and much nicer than the heavy 54x19 non-folding carrier I bought from Princess Auto. This took me about the same amount of time to assemble because: 1) 99% of my tools are no longer accessible to me, so I had to assemble this using combination wrenches (8mm, 10mm, and 15/16 since I don't have a 24mm), screwdrivers, and a pair of vise-grips; and 2) once I finished assembling it, I moved to put on the reflectors and realized that I had assembled it backwards, with the reflectors facing the towing vehicle. I had to disassemble and reassemble it in the correct orientation because I didn't pay attention the first time. I was fortunate enough to receive a brand new unit, and the four bolts that hold the basket to the frame are supposed to stick out about 10mm below the nuts when fully tightened. I also purchased a license plate bracket and stainless steel hinges--since this carrier will block my rear plate when loaded or folded--so I'm going to relocate my plate to the back in such a way that it will be visible regardless of the carrier's orientation. The carrier folds smoothly and easily, although I'm considering getting a couple of nylon washers for the hinge bolt since it still has enough slop for the carrier to rattle around when driving. You'd think that those would have been included in the packaging. The basket is large enough to hold a Multi-Operations Box, which is currently in my trunk, filled with tools so that it weighs around 60kg, and takes up so much space that I had to move my spare tire and recovery kit to the rear seat. For a sense of scale, I've transported a BBQ and two dishwashers (three separate occasions) in the trunk, and only had to bungee the trunk lid to keep it from opening; this box had to squeeze into the trunk but I can close the lid and still have two inches of clearance, so it's about the size of a short (22 inch tall) dishwasher. Since I have somehow amassed so much stuff in the past nine months that it couldn't possibly all fit in my Interceptor, I needed this carrier and a roof storage bag to hold everything when I return home.

Easy to assemble and install. I am using it on the back of my travel trailer for extra storage. The plastic corners seem to be a possible weak link but time will tell.

Love it. Light weight, sturdy. Easy to assemble, my 15 year old put it together.

I would give 5 stars to the carrier but I paid full price for an open box. Only minor scratches so I kept it.
