This gum has rules
Mastiha is sensitive to heat and hydration. Only chew when well hydrated! Too hot and it'll get sticky, too cold and it gets hard and brittle. Give it a lil rinse in room temp water to get started. With the gum in your mouth, if too sticky ingest something cool, if too hard drink something warm. After that go to town! The flavor is mild but never ends, pieces last from 4-10 hours

Too sticky like glue
Product was either really sticky or really hard. It got stuck in my teeth it felt like I had a hot glue stick melted in my mouth and hardened, not over exaggerating either. I tried brushing my teeth to get it out and it just seemed to make it worse. Ruined my toothed brush head and had to throw it away. It also gets stuck on your fingers and is hard to get off.

I'll write a legitimate review for this product
I'll write a legitimate review here, because this is quite a cool product, and I quite enjoy its use.I learned from other reviewers that this product is sap from a tree which is grown in Greece. And that this sap is covered in sand is a testament to its traditional technique of collection--the sap drips from the tree onto the sand, and then the sap is collected from the sand. It feels historic and unique and natural to me, which I enjoy a lot.The first thing I did was popped about 3 pieces in my mouth, it was making a nice gum in my mouth as I moved it around, but it seemed a bit foamy, it didn't seem right. Ah--on the package it says to rinse each drop with water before using.Next I tried just two pieces--being conservative. With this amount, it didn't make as good of a gum in my mouth, but it was okay. I actually laid down and stopped chewing the gum for a while--this was a real mistake. The gum became hard again, and it was all broken up into many tiny pieces. After a while, I realized my tongue and mouth felt like they have many tiny cuts in them. Sure enough, those tiny pieces must be very sharp when they harden in this way, because my tongue and mouth were totally cut up. It took about 2-3 days to heal. This of course was annoying, but anyway I got some insight into what's going on in my mouth because of the pain from every movement.Next, I decided 4-5 pieces would be ideal, and it is. This quickly creates a good gum from the hard pieces, and I can chew it to good effect. Good flavor, and a good feeling in your digestive system. I saw that this gum does not "go bad", so I kept it inside of a folded notecard and chewed it for a while everyday. Then, it became a bit brown-colored, and I got 4-5 new pieces. Now, I am sure to spread the gum out in my mouth, and I actually use my bedroom fan to dry the gum off well, then stick it in my notecard. I also floss and brush my teeth before I chew the mastic gum. This surely greatly helps to reduce any bacteria-attracting content from being on the gum while I keep it in my folded notecard.Now--about the chewing.WARNING: The "TMJ" is known to be "the most complicated joint in the body". Not only complicated, it is delicate. And it is a very important part of your face. You don't want to be foolish or forceful when it comes to the act of chewing a tough gum to try to gain muscle, coordination, and better alignment in your teeth, mandible/maxilla, face, etc. Now, I don't really waste much time just chewing casually. I look in the mirror. Analyze my bite to see what I want to try to improve. Then I chew in the mirror, lightly editing my jaw movements, etc. to improve my bite overtime. If I were to do anything too forceful, I would feel a sharp pain in my TMJ from things being too out of alignment. There are a lot of muscles in your face, and there are many which are involved in a basic chewing motion. It is of course quite fascinating. I've found medical resources and 3D models to be the most efficient way to learn about anatomy.Before--when I was just casually chewing for an hour or so everyday, my right-side chewing muscles became so sore in a way that made me decide to not chew the gum again until it felt totally healed. Surely this would occur because of of alignment issues and muscle weakness, so I think it is the best choice for me, to stick to brief and intentional sections of challenging chewing to encourage my face to grow in better and stronger alignment.I appreciate this product. Cheers!

A Gum With Benefits
I bought this gum to naturally treat the h pylori bacteria found in our stomach creating acid reflux and potential peptic ulcers. I bought an h pylori test here on Amazon, and fortunately both tests I took showed up negative , so I guess I'll just chew the gum for a stronger jaw line. Do not make the mistake that I made and just start chewing this from the package, because most likely it will turn very soft and IT WILL stick to your teeth like taffy.. I literally spent over a half hour trying to remove the gum from my molars ...lesson learned. Because this has no instructions, I googled how to chew mastic gum and this is what I found. You want to first put this in the refrigerator and get it cold. Keep it in the front of your mouth and let it warm up .. at first my medium size tears broke into smaller pieces but eventually turned into a solid piece of gum. I was able to chew the gum for more than hour before my jaw finally called it quits. Apparently, you can save this gum and continue to chew the same piece over and over.. like the never ending gobstopper. Keep in mind, this is not your typical flavorful bubblegum but this has a very subtle piney or woody taste which over time turns tasteless. Because this gum last soo long, I believe this will be beneficial for my reflux episodes because our saliva contains enzymes that help break down starches and fats naturally so I would label this as a medical type gum. It is a bit on the pricey side, so I'll wait and see if I get a defined jaw line or acid reflux relief before I would purchase again...but till then I'll chew away !
