I purchased something similar to this in a shirt from a pricey catalog years ago. It was very flattering. I had high hopes for this dress because it was very reasonably priced, stretchy, comfortable, and I thought it would hide my belly, which is my problem area. Even with the dress worn off the shoulders, actually when worn strapless as well, the front V did not come down long enough to cover my stomach. I don't think the dress came any larger and I'm not sure that would have helped anyway. I tried to turn it around to see if the back V was longer, but that wasn't the case . I'm sad that I had to return it. I think for those who have less in the midsection it would be great. If I lose some weight, I would definitely buy again. For reference I am 5 ft 5 in and about 225 lb. I generally wear 16-18, but more towards 18 these days. I would say this is more of a mini dress for those who are similar in height.

I'm a size 12, 178 lbs & 5'4. I purchased a large. I loved the dress! Very soft cotton material with stretch😉. I didn't realize that it gathered on the sides but it didn't matter much (only reason for 4 stars). I have wide hips & big thighs so I did have to pull it down from time to time because of the gather. You can wear it different ways which is a definite plus. Dress up or down too. Blue is not my color but the event I attended required any shade of blue. The baby blue is actually a pretty shade for this dress.
