When comparing this movie to the recent remake, it shines in comparison. Originally this movie was a decent movie that I have seen a couple of times through the years. It was never on my "This is such a good movie" list.The remake is a soulless version of this movie. But that makes sense since they race and gender swap a few characters. Typically when that happens the writing tends to be sub par and this still holds true.Original 4 stars, remake 2.

Actually, I liked the newest movie better.

Excellent characters. Super good good guys. Bad guys you want to punch. And I’m a grandma!

Parfait le film que je voulais

This isn't a review of the film, we all know it's a classic, but just the product itself, in this case being the Limited Edition Blu-Ray 3D Lenticular Hardcase + Art Cards.It's everything it claims to be, a sturdy outer box with a 3D image on the front of Swayze, inside is the blu-ray in a standard case, and the art-cards, which come in a card envelope with Road House emblazoned across it, the cards are nothing special but nice to have. Now for the most important bit, how does the film look and sound, my setup is just a TV with a sound bar, and on this it sounds fine. It looks good too, for a film now 35 years old, the colours are nice and bright, and the overall quality is nice and sharp. The special features run for a couple of hours, and give you some nice insights. It is somewhat expensive, but if you want the film on blu ray, you are limited for choice. It is a classic 80's action film, and if you love the film then it's worth it.

Reseña "profesional" que haya leído sobre esta película es reseña que la defenestra, así que me veo en la obligación de reivindicarla porque sé que "Roadhouse" es una cinta de acción que, junto a otro puñado, dejó huella en toda una generación (que me incluye) de niños y adolescentes de los primeros 90'. Los personajes son abundantes pero cuajan perfectamente con la historia, dando la impresión de que son los suficientes. Destaca el fallecido Swayze, que interpreta al lacónico Dalton, un tipo pacífico y espiritual hasta que la situación requiera lo contrario y le obligue a escatimar palabras y repartir mamporros (cosa que, para su desgracia, le sucede todos a diario). Ben Gazzara como terrateniente impune y déspota del pueblo regido por su propia ley también me fascinó. Nunca se ve opacado por la estrella de Swayze.¿Previsible? ¿Exagerada? ¿Llena de clichés? Claro, pero a su vez entetenidísima, y no solo por la acción a raudales, sino también por algunos diálogos ingeniosos y ciertas situaciones que contienen un humor bastante particular.Mención especial a la banda sonora interpretada por la agrupación del también desaparecido Jeff Healey. Esos covers bluseros de The Doors, Creedence y Bob Dylan son maravillosos y encajan perfectamente con la atmósfera de la película.
