The Echo is easy to set up and use and I was fine without the book. However I love the Echo so much that I bought several as Christmas presents and just knew that my tech challenged parents would be calling me every 2 minutes asking for help. I would than become frustrated by their questions and the Echo would sit unused. So I bought the Master Your Echo book and gave with the actual Echo. Explained to my parents that I would not be helping them and to read the book. Guess what the book was a simple instructional aid and both parents love the Echo and now know more than I do on different apps and features. If you are a tech challenged person or would like further details on what your Echo can do this is a great book. I look it this way if you get a smart phone and can figure out the apps and functions on your own skip the book but if you get a smart phone and curse it for being too complicated than you will get a lot of use out of the book.

This guide was highly informative, easily understood and had everything a beginner needs to know about getting started with Amazon Echo and more. Way more info than the Amazon Echo guide that comes with the product. Learned quite a bit of new information from this guide. Mckinnon explains everything quite well.

I purchased “Amazon Echo: Master Your Amazon Echo; User Guide and Manual because I wanted more detailed information about my wife’s new Echo device than the rather sparse manual that came with it provided. This is actually a very useful little book. Author Andrew McKinnon provides a lot of interesting information about the Amazon Echo and gives many helpful tips on getting the most out of it. I especially like the list of Echo’s “Easter eggs” that McKinnon provides in the last chapter.McKinnon writes in a friendly, casual style that is easy to understand. The book is short – perhaps 75 pages at most. I finished it in less than an hour.This book is essential if you own an Amazon Echo (with built-in speaker system). It will definitely help you get more out of this amazing device. Recommended.

Alexa is extraordinary in terms of capability. We received it just before our son and his family came to visit this summer. My wife wasn't sure she could live with it. However, when our son (a college professor and ace researcher no less) challenged Alexa to play some arcane symphony that hadn't been heard anywhere in the world for decades, she came through with flying colors. Our son was amazed and my wife happy with Alexa.One challenge we have is to find "chores" for Alexa that fit into our daily lives. I am reading up on the topic on a regular basis. We use her for the occasional question, music (mostly background), but have yet to explore added functionality that she has, and we need to use.

this is an unique electronic device and should improve with time. It has limited catalog of responses but with time I think this will expand. It has some very useful features like weather, time, nearest food restaurant. The application "echo app" needs to be improved for Apple Mac users so it appears more clearly with the other Apple applications screens also echo should ship with a better manual and shows how to add features not normally included with standard operations.

I love the echo device, but this book was a waste of money and time. It was absolutely useless. I purchased the device and I really enjoy it, that's why I thought to order a book to give me ideas to use Alexa more. However, it's a huge disappointment, this book lack depths and does not provide any useful or new information that the video provide. I feel like I wasted money with this purchase.Future buyers, does not need this book.

I really like my Echo (s). I have purchased 2, one for my office and one for my living room. I use echo to manage my calendars. I have several calendars that I have consolidated into a google calendars. Now i ask Alexa whats on my calendar and she give me a complete rundown of pending and open items. Alexa now knows my favorite US and UK tv programs and reminds me when episodes are showing. I have used the shopping list to remind me to pick up "stuff" from Home Depot. Alexa has read books to me though Audible. She can tell me a joke, tell me to exercise and tell me if it will rain. Alexa is an encylopedia. Downside is have to say Alexa everytime you want her to listen for instrcutions. My wife complained about the number of time i say Alexa everyday......whoops. Bottom line I like the ability to ask anything about anything.

Generally worthless. If you need this book, you would need instructions plugging in an electric lamp. As an indication, the author evidently did not even believe his "guide" would benefit from an index. If so, he was right. There are NO technical details. A waste of my time.

The book is clear and understandable, you will need to know what to do so don't be without it, it's worth it.

This book has the information buried in it, but the constant extolling of how Good Alexa is detracts completely from the value of the book. The idea of a User Manual is to inform and help the user get the best from the item being described. Suspect the Author was in the pay

You should make it clear this is not a book as it shows on listings a picture of a book,, ,it's a dawn loed , bigDisappointment. as I never bother to dawn loed so waest of my money thinking I was getting a book to read it's not,it's no stars not one

Helps to understand the system once you've first purchased it. But to be honest, after owning one for a while. You soon get to grips with it anyway. As there's a lot of help and tips on the app.

It's great book outlining the function of the amazing Amazon echo, a must!
