Not what it seems
While not complete junk, they are probably a safety hazard due to their overall thin construction and inability to insulate your hand against anything over 300 degrees for more than 10 seconds. They actually work as well as other silicone potholders I have purchased at half the price. I believe the 4 and 5 star reviews here are fake due to the aforementioned reasons. There is no way you can use these with caste iron products either. They are OK for handling tin foil on the barbecue, that's about it. I will be returning mine because I feel I was duped by their outrageous claims and fake reviews.

To resist or protect?
I'm not sure if there is a thin spot or what but in grasping a 350 degree pan from oven the heat transfer to my middle finger was painful and unacceptable. They may be heat resistant as in non-melting but not heat protecting to a comfortable level.I will use them for picking up meat from my smoker though

Perfect for the grill and smoker
These gloves work great. I use them to pull right off the hot grill and smoker. They have a great grip and you can feel what you are holding so you don't have to worry about anything slipping away from you.
