Preliminary testing proves this tool to be quite functional. There are few drawbacks. While it does not heat up in 10 seconds it will heat up to cutting temperature in less than 30 seconds. The wire cutter is smaller than expected. Eve with these short comings I still rank in 5 stars.

It worked okay - you have to be gentle with it otherwise it will break - if you pull too hard the wire can snap

I bought this product to cut out sections of foam in a pelican case to isolate and protect items in the case. Unfortunately, this product does not get hot enough to cut the foam so I ended up using a serrated knife. It may work for styrofoam but definitely not on dense foam.

Cuts through Styrofoam like butter! This is going to make my project much easier!3 days later- It heats up well, and the engraving attachment works well, but the thinner free cutting wire broke on the second day of use. If I can find a replacement I'll happily keep using it..

Wanted this to make cutting xps foam for dioramas a bit easier, well it made things easy for about 3 inches of cutting then the dam thing just stopped working. It just burned and melted everything this might be good for packing foam but not for xps board

I bought this to help speed up making Halloween tombstones. It works really well. You have to go slow when using the wire cutter, but it leaves a nice clean finish. I really liked using it to carve out the lettering, it doesn’t make a mess like when you you the rotory cutting tool. It not bad for the price.

Returned this because it DOES NOT work for high density foam. The only tool that would have in this set is the wire but it’s not taught enough to carve accurately. I attempted to tighten the wire and it just ended off snapping off when I used needle nose pliers to try to re-coil the end back to the u shape holder. Would be great for styrofoam but that’s about all it can handle. It got hot very quickly.

This foam cutter was the best I have ever used by far. It heats up fast and is extremely easy to operate. Would highly recommend this product for your next craft project and your everyday foam cutting needs.
