Of all the things I saw at CES, this was the only item I decided to buy. I actually found their competitor, DynaFlex Powerball first but decided to go with the NSD Spinner brand instead because it sounded like they were more on top of customer service. I also liked that they had an affordable wind up version that didn't require using the cord. You wind it up by turning the ball in the direction of the arrow (see picture attached, the arrow is embossed into the green part.) I'd read these kinds of balls were popular with rock climbers as a forearm exercise and it was fun to use, so I decided to give it a shot Pros: - Don't have to worry about losing a cord. You can take this thing with you anywhere and give it a spin. - Easy to use - I find myself picking this up while I'm watching TV or just walking around. - Helps with wrist / forearm pain - I have pretty bad pain from using the computer too much, and I found using the ball helped me stretch my forearms and hands and helped reduce the pain a lot - I can't validate, but when I have the ball spinning on high RPMS it takes a lot of effort to maintain my grip on the ball so I feel like I'm doing something to build up my strength. Cons: - If you have sweaty hands like I do, it's sometimes tough to wind up the ball - Very confusing lineup of options. I recognize in the end reading and taking note of the titles is super important. Inertial resistance: 19kg at 10,000rpm (350Hz) 3.2kg at 10,000rpm (450Hz) "up to 41.3lbs" ~$75: NSD Power Ultimate Winner's Precision Sterling Spinner Gyroscopic Wrist (GOLD COLOUR) = ball w/rpm meter, NO self starter. Designed to deliver higher RPMS. Claims vibration free operation at up to 27,000 RPM. Overall, since these aren't expensive, it was worth it for me to try out. Update: I still love this ball but I recommend not leaving it anywhere really hot. Since I take this ball with me everywhere, I'd left it in the car overnight in the hot summer weather and I think the glue that held the grip band to the ball melted. Now I can't keep the rubber grip on the ball when I spin as easily.

I bought two of the cheap 15 dollar spinners and they are absolute junk. Sent both back. Could not get one of them to consistently work. You get what you pay for. This unit works flawlessly and easy to keep spinning. Do yourself a favor buy this first and skip the cheap spinners that are not worth receiving even if they were free.

The NSD spinner is a great tool. There is no one trick pony and this isn't it. But grading this on the terms of its role and effectiveness at that role, I would give it a thumbs up. It is a multi purpose tool, it can help build strength in basically anything below the elbow, maintain range of motion in the arm and wrists (shoulder included, don't just hold it one way!), and help practice finding a rhythm which can be important from the average joe at the desk to an athlete. I play sports, and this helps build the fine motor control in my offhand (fine vs gross motor control, look it up!). At the computer, it is the perfect gadget to play with and use for loading screens. I purchased this version over the others because it has a screen so you can get some feedback on what you're doing. For my grip, holding it when the screen is touching my palm, is most secure and comfortable because I have the most direct contact as possible. If I flip it over so I can read the screen during use (if you're constantly spinning it to keep it powered, it is hard to read by the way) my palm cannot come in complete contact with the bottom because that is where the spinner is exposed. In conclusion, having the screen is a great perk but you really could do without it. I'd strongly recommend the self starting mechanism this one has versus the other options that require a string.

THIS IITEM IS TERRIBLE, HARD TO DO FOR ANYONE! I BOUGHT THIS FOR MY HUSBAND, WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY, PRICE WAS VERY HIGH, FOR SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T WORK! THEY FOOLED US!

One star on first delivery because even though This looks like a nice gyro , mine was defective right out of the box. It would not auto start nor wind up at all. I guess something you cannot see was malfunctioning inside of it. I was disappointed it did not work and that I would have to spend time packing it and driving time and gas cost to return this. Returning is not completely free to the purchaser because you spend your time and gas and printing a label and tape to send anything back. I will reorder and hope the next one works as advertised. We shall see. Updated Jan 4th 2026 I now got my second delivery and this one works great. There is a learning curve on using these but this one got going fast and furious unlike the first dud I got. This one sounds great with no clunkiness and purrs like a kitten at high speed. The seniors in our family love it along with the younger ages now that we got one that works well. We will see how it works over time to make anyone stronger. If nothing else it is a fun feeling when using it and sounds cool.

Works well, excellent for strengthening grip, wrists and forearms.

This is every bit as good as the "professional" brand. I have both so I can compare and I can't tell the difference between the 2. Fantastic gadget to really give those arms a workout. Great stress reliever that you can play around with as you watch the TV.

Recommended by my therapist to buy this brand for the counter so I could monitor my movement to strengthen up my torn ligaments. But I got a faulty LCD which doesn't show anything after umpteen times of spinning. Other than that, the mechanism is working fine. So I'll just have to make do without the readings.

Spinner is exactly as expected, after going thru some cheap ones found this brand was at top so went for it.
