Using two hands, squeeze the cups and open the vise-like holder. Clip it on the perpendicular part of your chair or pole holder and you can keep two drinks or a drink and your phone. Awesome. It's kind of bulky, but I put it in my cooler for a day at the beach. Or just clip it to your bag or chair. I've tried so many different drink holders, due to the inadequate cup holder or cup size of the many chairs I've gone through. This works with everything now.
