Very sturdy and grippy
I sometimes feel unsteady in the shower and my fiberglass shower walls have nothing to hold onto, and are quite slippery when wet. These bars give me 2 convenient and sturdy handholds that I can place exactly where I need them. Their suction grip on fiberglass is exceedingly strong. They do not slip, and their textured grip ensures that my hand does not slip off. They are very reassuring. The handle diameter and wall clearance are just right. They do not jut into the shower space obtrusively, so I do not bump into them.Installation:One caution: Use these to steady yourself with only moderate pressure, NOT to hold your entire weight. While the bars themselves are very sturdy and “grippy”, this does not mean your wall surface can sustain a lot of pressure from your weight. In other words, since these grip onto the wall surface, that surface may fail to hold if you place too much weight on the bars. This is NOT the fault of the bars! For example if you place onto wall tiles, those tiles may break away from the wall if you place all your weight on the bar. If you need something to pull a lot of your weight up, I recommend that you use grab bars that bolt into the wall studs, not dimply grip the surface. I would be very cautious about using these bars on painted wall surfaces as you would be depending on paint to hold you up - that could be dangerous as the paint may pull away from the wall, causing a fall.As mentioned these work well for me on fiberglass, but I found that the surface needs to be a queasy clean and DRY when installing.Engaging the suction cups takes a lot of force, so your fingers and hands must be fsirly strong for this. You may need assistance if your have arthritis or weakness in your fingers/hands. When the suction lever closes, it does so Quickly and with force - it made such a bang that I thought it broke my fiberglass wall (it didn’t break). I gave installation only 3 stars because of this. All that said, the installation is much easier than screwing a bar into studs inside a shower.I’m glad to have these bars, find them helpful, and recommend them to anyone who needs a steady handhold.

Doing a great job
We needed to add grab bars to our shower. It is a "stall" type and fiberglass. Contractors did not want to try to install the usual grab bars since even a neatly drilled hole (with hole saw) would weaken the fiberglass and they believed it would eventually crack and have to be replaced. My wife found these suction cup handles and ordered them. I was skeptical of efficacy. Never the less, I cleaned/degreased the mounting sites (flat, not curved surfaces) and attached the grips. Wow! I first noticed how much "umph" was needed to get them clamped down. It was not so much I had to hire a weight lifter to do it but a good solid clamp (I am used to the handles on GPS units and thought this would be similar. Not so. Much stronger). After a couple of weeks of using them in the shower they are firmly in place and proving to be invaluable. No slippage. I have not had to release/reattach due to loss of suction. I may in time, but these are really stuck to the smooth fiberglass surface. We are very pleased with these items and will buy more for other fiberglass tub/shower units when needed.

Use caution
I've been using the suction devices for about 5 weeks. They are easy to install but you must be sure the installing surface is smooth and clean. Even with this accomplished, one has come off 3 times while I was taking a shower. They seem securely installed but they may pop off.

Be Careful
Even if you clean the area you're installing them, please check if the suction cup hasn't come loose before using it as a hand hold. My shower is glossy fiberglass and they do come lose occasionally so have learned to check for this each time I take a shower.Jim

Gives a sense of security.
I have a one piece shower/tub and these really stick well to the smooth surface. They feel sturdy and are comfortable to grip. I have no complaints. I don't put my full weight on them, I only use them for a little extra security getting in and out of the shower. Much better than the towel bar. lol

Great Product… till it isnt.
Started out loving these things. Easy to install, real strong auction. Thought we had a winner… until one day they just decided they didnt want to be attached to that shower wall anymore, and threw themselves to their death, shattering into a mess of springs, suction cups and tiny broken plastic pieces. Happened in both the upstairs and the downstairs showers within a few days of each other.Hate to see it. I was diligent about reattaching these handles once a week, per instructions, so they WOULDNT come attached when my elderly patents and in-laws needed them at their best. Im just glad nobody was counting in them when they failed, and had a slip/fall accident on my property.I guess I should have used epoxy and attached them permanently. Now they're headed to the recycling, I so disappointed I dont even want my money back. Just totally DONE with these things. Heres to hoping their next incarnation of materials is something useful, productive and actually effective.

Holds On To What You Want It To Hold On To
This product has good suction. The cam mechanism is a little difficult for people with weak hand strength to operate. It will slip if you do not clean the surface properly and then wet the inside of the suction cup. I would buy this product again.

Pucker power
Fair price; delivered on time. Used in shower for maintaining balance, so I don't slip and bust my arse. NOT used to pull myself up. This is VERY important; will slip if I put too much weight on them. No need to drill into shower enclosure. Very easy to attach. Works very well for my intended purpose - to maintain balance.

Too large in size.
It's too large to have grip. Not advisable.
