7" between the holes, it does not fit onto the holes of a regular license plate.

does it cover plate to where cops will put u over ?

License plate laws vary from State to State. Go to your States Dept of motor vehicles website, should be a section on plate restrictions. Some states will not even allow a clear cover!

which material is it?

Its a very heavy die cast . I was shocked at the weight and beauty of it. I just had to buy a second one. I would definitely purchase one.. You won't be disappointed at all. It comes with hardware so you can install it. I had no problem at all with putting it on my plate on my truck. Hope this helps you..you will love it!

Great addition to my fairing.

Original ment for your license plate. I decided to put shaved down screws in the holes with silicone to hold them in and used gorilla tape to hold it on the fairing. Came out nice with an original look.

Very nice looking piece

Very nice looking piece! Chrome plating seems to be high quality and I plan to order a few more of them. Can't beat the price either. I plan to even put one on the front of my fireplace surround. Highly recommend this item for accent to anything anywhere.
